Direct Dream Control

Hi, I read someone's post and had an idea about controlling dreams whether lucid or not. That is to close Ur eyes for a while and think of something or anything U want to do or see, if it's a dream most likely it will change into it. My guess is for this to work, U'll have to treat it like a normal thing(that it should change by default) and if it dosen't "I'll try again later' not an RC or it might not work in the dream because then the mind would get used to the outcome of not changing to what U want. I'm trying this myself...see how it goes.

From what i gather he wants you to think about something before you go to sleep?

yeah i've heard of it, and you're right, i think it is called Direct Dreaming.

laconix... you got it. you just think about something before going to sleep and you end up dreaming about it a lot of the time. i've tried this a few times (hoping to induce LD'ing somehow), but i've never been able to make it work.

I thought he was suggesting a RC.

For example if you are in your bedroom, you close your eyes and think of a beach, when you open your eyes if you're in a dream it should most likely change into a beach..so it's kinda like a RC.

Hi, sorry to be unclear about explaining, was at a basic idea stage. Basically during the day it replaces the RC U normally do. Instead U try and will something to appear or disappear either by closing ur eyes for a moment thinking about that something to appear or disappear or by looking away and thinking about that something to appear or disappear and then look back again. From past experience of normal dreams it should follow what U will but with the intent that it WILL happen. If it dosen't happen tell Urself "I'll try again later, I still need practise" not "OK it din't change, that means I'm not dreaming." If the condition of the mind is conducive, it might also trigger lucidity,

I thought about this type of RC and I've found a problem to it: after trying (even with strong will at first) several times to do something you can only do in dreams, your will will loose its strenght and you will maybe have less control in your dreams...What do you think?

For example, I never try to fly in real life so as not to loose this ability I have in dreams....

Sometimes I think of something like that - trying to control something in real life as a RC. That never worked for me.

As for thinking about something for a long time expecting to dream about it - this is commonly known as "Dream Incubation"

It never worked probably because U used it as an RC or U did it too many times in a day. Ur mind gets convinced that it is impossible to change anything in real life just by thinking about it and hence in the dream. It would be helpful to be as open minded as possible about willing things in real life as I have powered a lightbulb with my fingers in the dream as a result of doing it in reallife before and yes I guess this is a form of dream incubation about control. Anyway I'm still in the process of testing this idea..so I can't say it works for sure.

Yes..I have noticed that the enthusiasm to will stuff in reallife looses in strength if it is done too many times and too close together. I also experience this with other RCs also, thats Y I only do them sometimes BUT recently I have decided to do the RCs at regular intervals and evenly spaced out between each RC..it isn't so taxing but problem was that the RC never worked in the dream :blue: . So I am using this dream controlling method at regular intervals:roll: . As for the not being able to fly in the dream again is because U used it as an RC, this is not an RC but a means to control the dream directly and hopefully become lucid also :content: U could start with something simple and easy to will like making small items appear or disappear or change into something else.
