when trying to WILD and you feel your body go numb, how do you know if it is sleep paralysis or not? cause from what i've heard of sleep paralysis, you are literally paralyzed and cant move. whereas when i try to WILD i go numb but can at any time move any part of my body.
this happen to anybody else?
and if its not sleep paralysis then what can i do to get to it?

i believe that going numb is the first step before becomming paralized. i may be wrong though...
i also have a question to ask about this subject:
i was laying down in a school today and was laying there for about 20 minutes. i thought that i was doing a WILD cuz i was starting to see images (one i really remember was an all green picture of a birds eye view of sem-eyes and one had a white question mark over it/on it) and i could first notice that i could feel my MP3 Player that i was holding in my hand. was this a WILD or do u need 2 kno more or what???
if using WILD sleeping paralysis is an inevitable part of the process. It is when the body falls asleep and the consciosness mainly operates in the astral body, so we loose all control over our physical body(we become paralyzed). It can be an extremely frightening experience if one doesn't know what it is all about.
Unless you have a chemical imbalance or eg. a history of sleepwalking.
It's possible that you might have a lack of sleep paralysis

I get the numb feeling all the time, infact I get it when I am pretty sure I am no where near getting the WILD to work. Its not sleep paralysis unless you can't move though.
I have never felt sleep paralysis before. I don't think its normal to feel it. If the timing is right you should get sleep paralysis at the exact moment you start to dream, and then stops the moment you wake up.
It's a natural chemical in the brain that releases when, usually, the body is unconcious, and during REM PERIODS so you cannot ACT out your dreams on a large scale. Usually it starts after you fall asleep and wears off before you wake up...but in some cases it can start early...like when keeping your brain concious while going unconcious...while dreaming...a WILD in other words...
It's really natural, and isn't supposed to be a scarry thing, but can be interpreted as one.
Thats the nice thing about this forum and stuff. If you know about it, it doesn't seem like it would be to bad. If you never heard about it before and you just woke up and couldn't move, that would freak you out.
Ack, I really hate SP. I always get the feeling some(one/thing) will walk into my room, and harm me, and I'll have no say over it, but be completely conscious :? THAT is like a real nightmare :(

Wow, ummm. I woke up the other day pretty abruptly and I couldn't move for a few seconds. I only really paid attention to my neck though, since I had slept funny and it was extreamly sore and hard to move, but I also remember my arms feeling like they were asleep (like I had slept on them) but the weird thing was they were at my sides and not under my pillow or anything. Could it be possible that this was the SP that was just wearing off as I was waking up?
