Would taking a 2 hour nap from lets say 8-10 pm then staying up till 11 (like a WBTB) get you closer to your REM stage during deep sleep? Or does this just reset once u stay up for an hour?

I think you need to sleep for 5 Hours for REM. I mean that's normally for a WBTB , you sleep 5 hours, wake up and then stay up for an hour setting your intentions on Ld'ing then going to sleep. So in conclusion I dont think you can do that within 3hours , maybe you might get to the early stages of REM.
You enter REM and dream about 90 minutes after you sleep.
Sleeping for two hours would help, but would be minimal compared to around 4-5 hours of sleep.
You may be able to hit REM faster, but no where near as fast as if you slept longer.
Suprisingly this worked for me, maybe it was the the nap maybe not, but i got results. I took a nap from 7:30-9:30 and then went on here for about an hour. I went back into my bed at 10:30 and had a tough time gettin back to sleep because of my nap, and i usually dont go to bed untill 11-11:30. Anyway, I fell alseep at about 10:50, this was the last time i looked at my alarm clock. I woke up at 11:55 and had 2 dreams, one of which was lucid. The first one was quick and lucid, as i felt it fading i did a DEILD and chained to a second dream which wasn't lucid though. And the wierd thing is the lucid one was lucid from the beginning. Like i never had to question whether i was dreaming or not, i just knew right from the start of the dream that it was a dream.
Maybe it was the nap maybe not, who know, but im anxious to try it again and see if i get results.
I think this is the problem with the polyphaisic sleep cycle.. It prevents you from getting enough REM sleep but shortening the periods you are alseep for.
