Failed attempt at WILD

Well I tried WILD again this morning, for the second time now. This time I tried waking up after 5 hours of sleep instead of doing it as I went to bed. The first time I did it I think I halfway acheived something because my body got all tingly and I was creating this little storyline thing in my head as I lay there, but eventually just gave up and went to sleep after like an hour. This morning I woke up to my alarm, got up for about 45 minutes and read posts on here, and then got back in my back, the thing is I couldn't get myself to stay still I was really fidgety and felt like I had to keep moving. At first I laid there for like 15 minutes but I just didn't feel comfortable and had to move around, I tried to just relax but it wouldn't work.

dont feel bad, i fail alllllll tha time too. hasnt worked once for me yet... i guess i dont have enough concetration usually or something.
Or maybe its cuz i dont listen exactly to what tha people here say to do such as, like u said, sleep 5 hrs. wake up, then try.

all my tries have been as I fall asleep for tha first time too. It'll happen tho...eventually. I just gotta get more focused.

Keep trying. It take practice. What finally worked for me was to relax and let go like I do when trying to fall asleep and then catch myself just as I am about to go under and begin counting.

Timing is tricky though and most of the time, I just fall asleep. One good thing though is that I don't feel too sleep deprived, just disappointed when that happens.

I was thinking of trying this but I wasn’t sure if it would work:

Why not set an alarm for 45 min. Like a quiet little watch that goes off by itself, then you could have some idea how long you have been lying their. I guess it might mess you up though. What do you think?

The same problem i have ;) i managed to stay still once, and once your body relaxes, you dont feel like moving anymore... You just dont want to move, because your body is like locked :) you can move, but you dont want to do it :D then i had some HI, but i need to go to bathroom, bah...

i have that kind of problem. if i wake up then stay awake for any amount of time, no matter how tired i am, i have alot of trouble going to sleep again.

That was EXACTLY the problem I was having when I was learning. I found that what worked for me was to make a quick trip to the bathroom and only partially wake up. I didn't turn the lights on, but instead would just sit quietly and think through some difficult problem, like a math problem or such.

When I returned to bed, it would then be easier to WILD. The best time for me seems to be after exactly 7 hours of sleep, less than that and I will either lay there awake, or fall asleep
