"Uncertianty", and moderate control

This morning, I had a weird experience. I had maybe three lucid dreams induced by an RC. One of them, I couldn't remember my well-established dream intention and instead did something else. I don't think I had much control, but I was well aware I was dreaming, even wondering and worrying when it would fade and getting ready to rub my hands together (i was in a car). Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Lucidity with little to moderate control? How can I get more control? And also, any tips to remember my intention?

Also, I had another where I got lucid in a store, but I was "uncertain", and hesitant. For example, I saw an expensive item connected to some anti-theft device, and I noticed how it was as thin as fishwire. But, I didn't unhook it or cut it because I was "uncertain" as to whether or not I was really dreaming or not. But, the weird thing is I was aware of my dream enough to reach into an empty pocket and spawn a pair of scissors, which I just put back. Did anyone ever have this experice of "uncertainty"?

The last one, I was in some place like the Grid multiplayer level of Perfect Dark N64 and I got semi-lucid through an RC, but the problem here was that I didn't trust my RCs. I kept doing one successful one after another, because I "just wanted to make sure". It got to the point where I did an uncuccessful nose RC and continued on, non-lucid. Is this also a problem one of you had?
I often do two RCs "just to make sure".

Anyway, I'm getting pretty good. I've never had 3 lucid dreams in one night. :cool:

Ok, about the control issues. I've experienced them too. The problem is that if you don't really believe you can do it, you probably won't be able to. Keep this in mind.

Now about forgetting the what you wanted to do. Try obsessing over it a little. Like one of the things I want to try from the dream state is astral projection. So I read about it before I go to bed, think about how to do it, etc.

Finally, about the RCing till the RC fails. If you RC and it works, then you might try to change something. For example, change the color of the carpet in the room.

Looks like your "critical faculty" (this is the term used in EWLD) in these dreams was just a tiny little bit too low for you to become completely aware.

In order to make sure you'll be more convinced of your state in future dreams, it might help for you to do your (waking) RCs more thoroughly. By that, I mean not only pinching your nose (or whatever RC you like), but also be aware of your surroundings and pretend you're in a dream. This will help because you're pretty much telling yourself you're dreaming.

However, what's probably even more important is that whenever you gain lucidity, you calm down completely before doing anything else. Just look around, absorb the environment and maybe rub your hands a little and do some more RCs. This way, you'll give yourself the chance to think rationally, thus erasing all doubt about whether or not you're dreaming.

The above is a good way to solve your intention problem. As long as you calm down, and take a few seconds to think about what you wanted to do. Another thing you might want to consider is focussing on only one intention when going to sleep, that one intention being the one you want to fulfill most. This makes it easier for you to remember what to do and because you're going for what you want most, your high motivation should increase your chances of remembering the intention.

Lets see... Anything else to add? Well three lucid dreams in one night really is great, congrats on that. :D
