how long does it last?
ok, i tried to WILD last night. i got to SP, but for some reason it never seemed to go away. i am sure it was SP, it was a STRONG tingleing sensation over my entire body.
how long does SP usually last after it starts? i am assuming i was VERY close to entering a dream. i had no HI at the time, just the above feeling is it normal to not have HI before you enter SP?
i seem to be just shy of WILD if i can get this final step i will make it for sure. during the above situation, i could even still hear the different sounds in my room/outside. would that make any difference in my atempt?

It lasts however long you let it lasts, or until you fall asleep and wake up again. If you want it to end, you can get it to end. Yeah, that was SP, and you probably were pretty close to entering a dream. You and I appear to be in the same spot. I can't WILD either. I can get up to SP and HI really easily. I can even really easily get to the transitional stage, but I can never make it. I always fail, and everything stops after that. You were probably close, but I'm not sure what information you're trying to get from this post. What is it you want to know?

WILD is among the most challenging techniques, but well worth continuing to pursue. You are VERY close. Don't give up!

hmm if i was that close, i'll try again. when i get to that point, should i think of a scene i want to enter? when i was at that point, i only saw blackness but no hi.

It can go a couple ways from there. I've experienced both.
One is to watch the hypnogic imagery (HI) develop until it is solid and three dimensional. You must do this without losing awareness. Then you have to find a way to get into the dream. This is the tricky bit. For me, I need to sort of let go of it all and just know I'll remember in a couple minutes, because if I don't let go I will wake up. It's like letting myself fall at that point - fall asleep. When it works, I will find myself fully in the dream and lucid.
The other way is to concentrate on the sensations and then just get up - right out of your body. This one is a bit weirder but actually more reliable for me - it doesn't require that leap of faith to get into the dream. When I do that, I find myself in my same surroundings (or very close), and having to prove that I am in a dream with an RC. This is what many choose to call an OBE, but I've tested that repeatedly and know it isn't... not in my case, anyway.
From there you can spin yourself into another place, find a mirror to walk though, find a door that will take you somewhere or just fly through the roof and head out.

ok, i will try that. when you say get up, do you ACCTUALLY try to get up or do you imagine it. i can get up if i open my eyes, and i WILL be awake. i wonder what would happen, if i tried to get up WITHOUT opening my eyes first.
