I did it, my first Lucid Dream!!!
Alright so it starts off with me in my house. It was a weird kind of feeling though, I think I began to suspect my dream was in fact a dream near the middle/end of it. So I'm walking around the upper level of my house and I see a big square white sign on the wall. It had some text at the bottom that was very small, but at the same time impossible to make out. Right when I saw that text I remember thinking, "Well that's weird...". It was such a weird feeling though, it was like my mind and body knew that it was a dream, before I realized it. I felt like a different part of me was trying to scream out that it was a dream, but my subconscience just didn't listen at first. I looked back at the sign strangely in my house and saw a word that seemed to start with a d. That triggered something in my mind, it led me to think of words that begin with the letter "d". So though a chain of I think 3 or so words I ended up at dream. "Oh shit, is this a dream?". Now at this point I'm extremely proud of myself because at that EXACT moment I plugged my nose and tried to breath. BINGO. I didn't accept it at first, I had to breath a couple of times to make sure that I was plugging it all the way. After I accepted that reality check I pushed on the wall, and honestly now that I'm awake I'm not sure what happened, I think it didn't have as much resistance. So the second I realized I was lucid I headed downstairs. I jogged over to the door to the outside and surprisingly had no problem opening the door and walking out. I stood in the middle of the street and looked around for a minute. It was dark, obviously night. I shut my eyes for a second and imagined a brighter scenario, but it resulted in my house's colors being more vibrant and clear. So I'm standing in the street and the first thing that comes to my mind is trying to fly. Back in middle school I was a big fan of Dragon Ball Z, and I remembered one character telling the other how to fly. So I imagined another force pushing down as I started to jump. Un fortunately after I jumped about 30 feet in the air I began to descend. I was coming down on my porch but at the last moment caught myself and divebombed it. Right after I woke up from the dream I, of course, was excited that I did it and immediately closed my eyes and tried a DEILD, but realized I had moved significantly...so I got up and began to write down my LD.
It was wierd, I didn't do anything to induce the lucid dream that night, well on purpose. I saw the 12:01 show of Pirates, and realized the movie was 2 hours and 48 minutes long, haha. I dropped my friend off at his house and on the way I remember joking around because I was so exhausted and tired, saying "Man, I could lucid dream tonight...no joke.". But then again that was right after I claimed to see a lion on someone's front lawn, so I think I was already half knocked out, haha. Anyway I got to my house and started walking upstairs to my room and remember seeing some flashes and chuckling, thinking they were HI's without my eyes closed. So I turned on the fan and laid down for bed, completely exhausted. I drifted off to sleep and had my lucid dream. I woke up at about noon though, so I imagine it was near, if not, one of my last REM cycles? Bummer.
The only bad thing I thought was that It wasn't as clear as I thought it would be. For example, when I was upstairs in the dream, going downstairs felt like I closed my eyes, felt myself going down the steps, and opened my eyes at the door. I looked as I was unlocking, but didn't necessarily see locks or even my hand. Then there was the failure to make daylight too, but I'm not too distressed about that, it seems more of an advanced ability. Now that I'm sitting here I wish I would have remembered to spin around, like I've read so many times on the forums. Regardless, my accidental lucid dream was nothing like I've ever experienced. Lately I haven't been doing my dream-log and reality checks throughout the day, because I've been so busy with a lot of other things in my life right now. Have had a lot on my mind and a lot on my heart, so I figured I would pick up on lucid dreaming when summer came. So I guess that's it. Lucid Dream # 1- 15 days to achieve. :D
