      Best technique during a nap?

      Hey all,

I'm probably not looking carefully enough but I can't seem to find info on how to attain lucidity while napping during the day. What methods work for you, and do you find it easier in general to attain lucidity at night or during a nap? Thanks!!

I definately find it easier to lucid during a nap as opposed to at night, but I have done both. I bet that 80 % of my lucids have been in naps.

I have only done a WILD 3 times and all three were in naps, but many people swear by this metheod

I basically do MILD's by doing RC's throughout everyday and then convincing myself I will have a lucid during my nap.

I hope this helps ya out

I've only had a few lucids, but the most lucid I've been was during a nap. The trick is to go lie down while you're not particularly tired. You can sleep, sure, but you're not just dying to nap. What I did was WILD and check out my HI for a bit, and suddenly I was lucid. It's pretty easy if you're not dead tired to start with. But be patient, it can take longer to fall asleep this way.
      Best of luck!

Shoot, I "dream" of the luxury of midday naps. I've heard lots of good things with regards to them and lucidity. I've just never had the chance to try it out.

When is the best time for a midday nap? I wake up at 7am for school, I get home at 4pm and sometime nap but I never dream.

      Lightbulb Control

While naps are great in general, I find self induced sleep a more controlled way of achieving Lucid Dreaming..

Would love to be able to try taking a nap during the day, not always easy in a city job lol. Although I hear the Japanese encourage power naps for their employees, wonder if my company would follow suit

What do you mean by "self-induced" sleep? Isn't is self-induced any time you actually go to bed?

Those lucky Japanese get all the breaks: the cool RPG games, the awesome artwork, the naps during work. I'm so jealous.

Sadly, I've never had a lucid dream during a daytime nap. I often have very vivid dreams during these naps but I've never become lucid.

I am normaly able to become lucid in my naps, that's where most of my WILDs are during naps. About 80-90% of my dreams are WILDs. I do find it a bit hareder to control and maintain my lucidity, but in the end I find that they are worth all of the effort.
I hope now that it's summer to achieve 50 lucids durring naps and 50 lucids during my regular sleep.
