So Close (WILD)
Hi,
I tried my first attempt tonight at lucid dreaming. I used the 61 point relaxation technique, which worked fairly well, and then started counting 1-I'm dreaming, etc. I started getting a weird pulsing sound/vibration in my ears, and at somepoints felt liking I was rotating sideways repeatedly, but that was as far as it went - I wasn't able to actually enter a dream. Any tips?

just have to keep going, after a while you will get there.

When you tried can also factor in on the percentage of success.
If you tried before going to bed, the chances are incredibly slim you will succeed, and it will take about an hour. If you tried after a few hours of sleep, how many? and did you get out of bed for an amount of time before you tried the WILD? All of these can factor in.
I recommend 3-4 hours of sleep and 20-30 minutes of being awake before attempting with a great chance of succeeding.

yeah...you're VERY freaking close...it took me 2 more weeks to finally do one when I was at the point you're at. Of course theres no real measure to how long it'll take you, but even when I first got mine off...they only lasted for about 5 seconds to half a minute. You just have to keep working at them, and so far I find the WBTB technique to work the best. Get five or six hours of sleep...wake the heck up...write in your dream journal. Look around in the forums...use the bathroom...and hopefully about 45 minutes have elapsed. Then try it. But it sounds like you got everything down...I think it just takes your body a while to get used to it...like in a routine or something. I've gotten to the point where I attempt WILDs anytime I try to sleep...I don't know if this is good or not, but I've had a good deal of them in the past three weeks.

lol...what klace said...i guess we were typing around the same time.

hey when you stopped feeling like you were roatating, did you open your eyes and reality check? Thats practicly all my WILDs start, with me opening my eyes.
maybe you were there and didnt even know it!

I had a close WILD, about 4-5 times last night!
I got that same rocking feeling.
Sometimes the HI would become focused and I'd feel as if I'm not part of my body and I'm seeing, but not with my eyes.
Other times the pitch black of the night got darker, which sounds impossible but it happened!
My problem was I got excited, which got my heart rate up and pulled me back to "waking reality" and the last time, I decided to relax a bit, but I relaxed too much and fell asleep.
I spend 3 hours attempting a WILD, with no sleep before-hand, I only tried because I wasn't falling asleep anyway :(
Good luck next time!

I wrote a reply a few hours ago, but it must of gotten lost, so, I'll write it again.
Unfortunately, I'm a very deep sleeper. It's hard enough waking up in the morning, let alone at 3:00 AM. And I can't use a loud radio or alarm clock because it would wake up the rest of my family. So that sorta rules out WBTB....

hmmm...my tv wakes me up...it can just come on a blue screen....and the noise from it powering on wakes me up. I sleep like a ninja on guard duty for some reason.
