i woke up this night in hopes oof trying to WILD, but fell aslep after i thought the word WILD... any help appreciated. i woke in the 2nd REM period if tat helps. also, tonight i will try to wake later- set alarm for 3-4 REM.

I have the same problem. You have to find the right amount of time to sleep, and the right amount of time to stay up after you get up to your alarm.
This is because you have to be just aware enough to stay conscious and just sleepy enough to fall asleep.
There is no magic number, you have to find what works for you.
