Racing heart rate and twitching in eyes

i tried a method that someone posted on here - somewhere

so it was about saying to your self i going to lucid dream

and concentrating on the breathing and shapes that appear when your eyes are shut.

the thread said it would take about 30 min usually and probably did.

but whats really weird to me is. i felt my muscles unresponsive and relaxed

but soon after like probably 15-20 min.

my heart started to thump really loud and fast - my eyes started to twitch a bit

and my muscles felt kind of weird.

as this happened i could see random pictures of people and animals.

also i saw like a huge sky with clouds - but by then i really got sort of freaked

out, as my heart was going nuts - it was loud and kinda weird.

so i decided to stop, and go to bed to do some "normal sleeping"

anyway i was wondering if this is normal.

sounds like it would have been a wild if ya kept at it. the random pictures and things are completely normal. the heart and eyes thing are also normal alot of times.

if ya kept at it, the random pictures and things might have turned into an actual dream. sounds like ya may have been fairly close if ya didn't stop. if ya tried again and kept going i bet ya could make it all the way.

i have had these things and others happen to me when trying to wild.

thanks for that.

also after failing to do this - i can remember about 4 dreams i had last night
but other times wasnt able to recall more that 2.

New Cooler, all that's totally normal, so don't worry.

You experience all of this normally when you sleep, but you're just not conscious of it. The imagery is known as hypnagogia. As well as seeing random imagery, you may also see light patterns or hear odd noises.

The odd feeling in your muscles could have been the onset of sleep paralysis, which also happens every night. Sleep paralysis is why you (normally) don't act out your dreams in the night.

Next time you attempt this technique, don't get freaked out, just ride with it. Soon you'll find yourself right in the middle of a dream. Good luck!

I have experienced feelings similar to these when trying to induce a WILD.
For me, though, every time my eyes start moving really fast they begin to water and I get all teary-eyed. This always makes me stop what I'm doing and it doesn't seem right.

hey newcooler, i think i had the same weird muscle feeling you had except without all the images. does it sorta feel like your muscles are numb and you dont feel like moving them but if you do you'll snap outta it?

I have the heart thing which freaks me out enough to kick my self out of sp to stop it. My heart beats so hard my vision blurs and i can feel the beating in my limbs and is very uncomfortable I wonder what it is its the only thing that stops me from wilding. :confused:

Yeah - pretty much exactly that

its kind weird - i tried WILD again - wasn't able to get same response as last time but time flew really quick - before i knew it my timer went off after 1.25hrs

Well another thing thats happening to me is

now i can remember pretty much many dreams i have.

when i found out about lucid dreaming - everything to seemed to have been taken into consideration about dreaming.

Time line of things so far

Monday - found out about lucid dreaming.

Tuesday - i tried wild - got freaked out - but the next day i can remember 5 dreams i had that night.

Wednesday - failed wild again - but i can remember 6 dreams i had - but i was not able to lucid in any of them.

well i just get up in the morning and write what i remember about my dreams.

I've tried to WILD once but when I slip into SP I get freaked out. I don't usually try to get out of it and I just sleep it off but it still kind of bothers me when it happens.

Oh, I had the same thing! My heart was pounding so fast and I thought it was due to excitement... I also had the twitchy eyes. I like the twitchy eyes. :P

For some reason I didn't have HI, though, and I thought it wouldn't work to try again if my heart was going to pound like a jackhammer.

Next time, though, I won't freak out about it.
