Help!!!
I have been trying to gain lucidity for a very long time (about a year), and have come very close on more than one occasion, but I can never seem to push it that last few inches to enter true lucidity. I have (or did have when I had it honed) good dream recall, but reality tests and pretty much every other technique I have tried, have proved unsuccessful. I feel like the only way for me to lucid dream is to force it by WILDing, but this is proving very difficult and tiring, and it doesn't make it any easier if you've never lucidly dreamed before. I'm feeling discouraged. I almost feel like my mind may be too weak and undisciplined to lucid dream. Could someone give me some tips?

Ok, I think WILD'ing might be ok for you. First of all, explain your problems WILD'ing? If it's not working you must be something wrong? Explain your technique, and what happens. Make sure you WBTB, and all.

Well could you list some techniques you have tried? There's probably something that we can catch, like perhaps you're not sleeping enough before trying a WILD, for example.

Yeah...
Yep, I thing that's part of the problem with WILDing. I need to sleep approximately six hours before I try to WILD. I haven't been doing that because I haven't had the time. I also share rooms and the only way I can wake up is with an alarm, but it will also wake up my brother. I did reality checks for a month and remembered at least 5-6 dreams a week and not in one did I do a reality check. I used MILD with the reality checks. None of them worked at all, and lots of times I would realize I was dreaming, but it would be all blurry and I really wouldn't be controlling the dream so it wasn't fully lucid. Right now I'm trying to pay attention to hypnagogic imagery, but I'm not quite sure if I'm supposed to pay attention to the undersides of my eyelids or my minds eye. I haven't tried any other WILD techniques.

Just to add my little bit,
I struggled for ages after coming lucid for the first time,
I have since discovered that if I’m struggling to get there all I have to do is go to bed around 10 and stay awake until around 5.00am (i.e. watching television, reading a book etc) even though I am well tired I always seem to drop straight in to lucidity
from what I can work out I usually hit my rem state around 5.00am so I just drop straight in to it half awake
Bizarre I know but it works every time for me
