My experiences with B6

I'm starting to experiment with B6 vitamin, and I'm going to post my experiences here so anyone who wants to try it knows what to expect. Because the box I've bought comes with 300mg tablets (very high dose) I'll only take one, maybe two per week. Feel free to post your own experiences.
First night (3 sep. 07):
I go to sleep at 1:30 AM (spanish style) and set my alarm for 4:30 AM. I wake up, take 300mg of B6 and go back to sleep. It was one of those nights where you wake up after every single dream, so I DEILDed away, which produced 1 LD. All other dreams were very vivid and they all had sexual content.
Conclusion: Pretty good results, considering I've never done DEILD. I've got a good feeling about this :)

I take b6 every night and when i first started taking b6 i had many lucid dreams, not long after i had 6 lucid dreams in a row.

Let us know if it works long-term, I'm interested to see :happyface:

So I decided to try again last night, I went to sleep at 3:30 AM, woke up at 5 AM and took a 300mg pill. I had smoked some weed earlier on in the afternoon, so that could account for not remembering any dreams in the earlier part of the night, but later on I had 2 DILDs, RC-induced. They were very short, and no matter how much I tried I couldn't remember my task (finding my dream guide). I flew over a beautiful landscape and went into a pool to see if I could breathe underwater (I had never done this before, I don't know why). It felt like if something was pressing down on me while I breathed, weird. In one of my non-lucid dreams all my teeth fell off, a classic dream sign (the first time it happens to me) and I didn't catch it, damn.
I'll try again in 3-4 days, to see if having taken 600mg in two days helps having LDs the following night/s.

Are you sure its ok to take so much b6? I heard that excessive doses of vitamin B6 are neurotoxic and can cause sensory nerve damage.

I asked my doctor and he said yes. Besides, 300mg is the dose that comes in the pill, and the medical pamphlet inside it says to take 2 per day. To have side effects you have to deveolp an excess of 1000mg per day.

That can't be right surely. I read on a report on the internet that anything over 200mg can cause side effects, i hope it's wrong because then i would take more pillls a night mine are 100g.

Are you sure it's ok?

I'm sure enough that I will take it, but I would never tell anybody to take it before consulting their doctor. Ok, so here's the info on my pamphlet (direct translation from spanish)
"Benadon, 20 pills, 300mg of pyridoxine. Take 2-4 pills per day" (up to 1200mg per day, although I would never take more than one)
It has a long list of indications, but nothing under side-effects
I also thought it was weird, but I bought it from a pharmacist and I asked my doctor, so I really don't see what can go wrong

Where do you get your 100g ones from? When/how often do you take them?

My ld have stopped, i want to try b6 to get them back!

b6 keeps me awake.

That's why I take it in the middle of the night, that way I'm so tired that it doesn't take any effort to fall asleep again. Maybe the fact that it wakes my mind up while I'm already asleep helps with the process of noticing I'm dreaming. I'll look into it.

B6 improves your memory which gives you a better chance of remembering you are dreaming, and after 6 hours of taking you have a flash of alertness which can make you lucid. I have become lucid alot this way.

I tried 300mg of B6 last night after WBTB. I tried practicing a sleep paralysis technique for about an hour to produce a WILD, but it was pretty hopeless. Trying to concentrate at all just made it impossible for my body to fall asleep. In addition, I felt really kind of jumpy and nervous. I eventually just did my best to fall asleep any old way. In the end, I did have a significantly higher than average amount of dream material (for a non-lucid night) in the morning, but it was fairly fragmented.

Part of the reason for the increased recall might simply be that I kept waking up.

Next time I might try 100mg of B6 and see what happens.

I take two lots of B6 as part of a vitamin, one before I go to work at 9:30pm, and one at lunch at work at 2am. I've found if I stop taking it (i.e.: too lazy to get more tablets) then I have far fewer lucid dreams, and certainly not one a night as I have been lately.

I've just orderd 100 tabets of 100mg B6.

What would you reccomend? A week taking them before sleep and a week taking them as i wake up in the night?

Bare in mind i only sleep 5-6hours a night due to work.

P.S Where in Wales are you from? I'm going to Tenby at the end of the month :D

Last night I took 300mg of b6 again. I took it early, before going to sleep at 12:30, which might account for the lack of LDs. My non-lucid dreams however were very vivid, and I was thinking about LDing in every one of them, even if I didn't do a reality check. I had what would normally be a nightmare (only I didn't really feel threatened) with an amazing amount of detail, and a very thoughtful plot. I think it might make a great short story, I'll work on it.

One other thing, I was woken up by some friends coming back from a party who wanted to sleep at my house (no, this wasn't a dream, just some very drunk friends) so after I accommodated them I decided to try WILDing seriously, and after a couple of minutes I felt my hand start to slide down until it touched something that felt like what rock climbers use to practice indoors, those weird-looking hand-holds on those fake walls. Now, I don't want to make this thread about my sad attempts at WILDing, so if anyone has any advice on what to do from that stage on please PM me.

I'll also look into what b6 has to offer for WILDs

i wake up regularly during the night, so i'll try taking vitamin b then. what do you think would happen though if i took a 150mg B-Complex vitamin at like 3 in the morning? i usually sleep around 10 30.


i tried taking vitamin b-complex 150 mg at 8:00 pm and sleeping at 10 30 pm, but that had no effect whatsoever.

I'm not sure what would happen, but I read somewhere that taking multivitamins does not have the same effect as taking only b6. Try taking only b6 (pyridoxine), unless you're taking the b-complex vitamin for something other than lucid dreaming.

What is the difference in B6 and B12 in dreaming? I've heard of taking both, but does B6 give the most results?

what if you take this stuff like everyday for a while, then stop. will your dream recall be very bad? if so, I like sticking to the natural way... but if there are no effects from it I may need to buy a bottle.

Just got my B6 and it says on the back in small print

"Long term intakes of amounts greater that 10mg daily may lead to mild tingling or numbness"

So, should i be taking a 100mg pill everynight. Or one every few nights?

Shall i take one just as i go to bed, an hour before bed, or as i wake in the night? :oops:

I don't understand, as I said in a previous post on my box it says to take 2-4 300mg pills daily (1200mg max. per day, every day). Why is it so different from one place to another?

I have no idea, that is what it says on the back of mine :shock:

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

Vitamin B6 is needed for the proper functioning of over 60 enzymes and is involved in the synthesis and metabolism of nucleic acids, amino acids and proteins.

It is also involved in the burning of glycogen as fuel.

• EC/UK RDA: 2 mg/day

• US RDA: 2 mg/day

• UK average dietary intake: 2.5 mg/day. Observed intakes vary from 1­4.5 mg.

Some sports nutritionists recommend that athletes ensure an intake of 10 mg to 50 mg per day. More than this is not recommended. Supplements providing 100 mg to 500 mg vitamin B6 per tablet are potentially dangerous if used without medical supervision.

Excessive vitamin B6 (several hundreds of mg/day) taken over several weeks or months can produce symptoms of nerve damage (tingling, burning, shooting pains, pins and needles, clumsiness, numbness, even partial paralysis), depression, headache, tiredness, bloatedness and irritability. These symptoms are only partially helped by eliminating B6 supplements from the diet.

More modest doses (100 mg/day for several months) cause less serious nerve damage, resulting in tingling sensations in the fingers and toes that goes away once supplements are discontinued.

That is suppost to mean, sub-conciously, you worry about your apperance.

So I tried again last night, but got no lucids. I missed a great chance, because I was coming out of a dream and noticed it, but I didn't try to get back in. I remember all of my dreams, so it certainly increases recall, and I'll one last time in a couple of days and report back, so wish me luck.

Anyone experienced headache when taking B6?
Sometimes I can wake up with a slight headache the day after. The reason I continue to take them now and then is because the results are amazing.
When I take them I don't exceed 100mg.

Sorry about my absence. I ate a banana and a few potato slices. Nothing big. I don't see the need to take pills for it. I don't think it's the same. I think it has to be natural.

For few days I have been taking 40 mg of B6 before going to sleep. Unfortunately, my dream recall is not any better. I am rather inclined to say that it worse than usual right now (I don't imply the B6 link, though).
