what is the easiest method on lucid dreaming??
If something's easy, it's not worth having.
The easiest would be MILD, where you simply remind yourself to recognise a dream for what it is and shoot for a DILD. This is most easily accomplished by keeping a dream journal, identifying your dream signs and performing reality checks.
Unfortunately, while it's the easiest, it's usually the least reliable. But hey, anything is a step in the right direction.
I agree with Oneironaught. If you're looking for "easiest".. MILD would probably be it.
I think it's a very individual thing. Some people can WILD naturally while others can struggle with it for years. My suggestion is to try as many different techniques as you can find until something works for you.
If your question is what method you should pursue to have your first LD as quickly as possible - I would say buy a RemDreamer. That could potentially work for you on the very first try.
WBTB isn't hard to achieve.
Go to bed early tonight and sleep for seven to eight hours. Set your alarm so that you wake up, and once you wake up dedicate your mind to lucid dreaming for about thirty minutes.
Things you should do when you wake up: read dreamviews, dream journal, reality checks, write down the dreams you just had. Make sure you think about what you will do IF you become lucid.
Most importantly, when you get back into bed do reality checks every few minutes. This should keep you awake, and you want to be as relaxed as possible. Once you feel yourself slipping back into sleep say, "when i fall into a dream i will check my reality."
Eventually, you will notice that you are on the threshold of a dream. If ANYTHING out of the ordinary happens you SHOULD be able to catch it. Unfortunately, it's possible to have several false awakenings while attempting WBTB.
Hope this helps, but it takes some getting accustomed too. The hardest part is motivating yourself to get out of bed and read lucid dream related things.
Also, i'd like to get some feedback on this method.
Seven or eight hours sounds a bit excessive. I think the idea of WBTB is that the first period of sleep should satisfy your need for deep sleep. Deep sleep occurs in the first three sleep cycles, and one sleep cycle lasts for 90-100 minutes. So ideally you should sleep for 4.5 to 5 hours. When you fall asleep again you'll go into REM sleep more or less immediately.
Thor, you're right. Ideally, you would want to sleep for 4.5 to 5 hours, but we are talking about easiest method here. If you have the time to sleep for 7 hours and go back to sleep it's going to be EASIER to realize you are dreaming, because your in such a light sleep.
That's my way of doing it when i haven't been writing in my journal. It seems to work 35% of the time for me. My recall has gone to (insert expletive) recently.
Look at Dr Technicals stats in his signiture.
MILD's are the easiest and most relaxing and to get your first LD, the least stressful.
I started training 3 days ago and have had 2 LD's.
These were from MILD's or MILD mixed with WBTB (I never got out of bed).
I would say from reading hundreds of these posts to try MILD and work later towards a WILD when you have had a LD to get the feel of what happens and the ways of awareness and control.
Anyone agree?
I would say WBTB sets you up better for a DILD. It reaffirms lucid dreaming mid REM sleep :)
