That's also knows as the WILD method.

No way, WBTB and WILD are far from the same. WILD is entering dreams consciously, WBTB is just the concept of waking up and getting back to bed. WBTB is usually combined either with WILD or MILD, though. The acronyms pretty much explains it.
Yes, this definately works for me. And if you just want a regular dream, but you want to dream about something specific, think about it and let it stay on your subconscious mind while you fall asleep. It really does work! :)

Yeah, I do that all the time. I always choose what to dream about, so even if I can't LD, I still have that little bit of control over my dreams so I am still happy :) .

Why don't you make your dream so that it has a huge sign that says, "You are dreaming,"? That should let you become lucid. :wink:Quote:

lol I wish I could be so specific when I do that... but basically all i can choose is if a certain person or animal will be in my dream or if it will be a good dream or a nightmare.
Not only does it work but it works effectively and like the guy says there are spontanous lucid dreams too that you get.

The informaiton that I got from Wake Back to Bed is taken directly from Marc Vandekeere on Bird's Lucid Dream Website.
Ive been very vocal about my immense succes with WBTB so Im jsut gonna put down my method here. I dont even know if its any different from others but this is what works for me almost ever single time.
1:Go to sleep tired
2:wake up approx. 5 hours later
3:Spend 60-90 minutes(your mind should be awake, your body tired) writing and reading in your dream journal. It helps a lot to write down all the dreams you can remember, that you just had. And spend any extra time reading about dreaming, or thinking about dreaming, and doing reality checks often.
4:Lay down and go to sleep and try to imagine walking around a dreamscape. Just walking around. You dont need to do much. And keep thinking "Im dreaming. This is a lucid dream" but without really stressing about it. Its ok for your mind to be relaxed, just dont let it wander. And don't sit there thinking "Is it coming yet?". Dont get anxious. Just chill out and enjoy imagining walking around a dreamscape.
Well after all of these steps one of two things happen. I enter the dream aware(WILD) or very quickly realize that Im dreaming(MILD?). WHen I follow these steps correctly it's hard for me to NOT have a lucid dream.

This sounds like the best method out there, and I tried it last night. It didnt work (for more than one reason, detailed in my dream journal on here) but one of the reasons was that if Im trying to MILD or thinking about dreaming, sleep or anything related then its impossible for me to sleep.
I know other people encounter this problem, so does anyone have a way to get around it?
Simple, dont do any technique just fall asleep. Works for me!! 8)

You just get up, read/think/write about lucidity then fall asleep and become lucid?
I dont think I stayed up long enough this morning, and the time that I was up I was only reading about lucidity for about half that time, so I'll try again tonight.
You got it. Stay up for a while read about lucidity and go back to sleep. If you cant fall asleep try staying up for less amount of time and then go back to sleep. Try going on th emessage board during the day so that when you fall wake up during the night you won't have to stay up too long and read alot.
I actually stayed awake for half an hour after sleep last night but it was after sleeping for around 9 hours...I went back to bed and got a total of 14 hours of sleep :lol:
I have a bad habit of getting too comfortable in my bed and just rolling over and passing out again.
Hey orangestar I'm in Iowa too, East DM. Going to dmacc in ankeny about to start my 2nd year there.
yeah i woke up cuz i had to go pee badly after 11 hours of sleep then went back to bed (yeah i know too much sleep is a bad thing but its soo much fun) anyways i thought about lucid dreaming and was probably awake for 20 minutes
anyways i had about 10 minutes of in and out lucidity which was pretty cool cuz i managed to fly some
It didn't work for me, and I could only remember a few dreams. But the dreams were about things that were nearby such as my xbox and my new poster. I find this strange because usually when I'm trying to get to sleep and I think of something nearby I become more aware and wake up. But if that's all it's going to do for me, I don't think it's worth waking up at 6. I'll try again tomorrow, though.
