errr...WILD-ILD?
ok...im hoping the title caught your attention, because I have no idea what happened to me during my sleeping ventures last night!
to those of you helping me with WILD, i thank you for putting up with my persistent questions....but I could find nothing similar to what happened to me, so im afraid I have to ask another!
last night
1. woke up after approx 5 hours sleep with my alarm
2. had a drink...went to the bathroom...kept lights off
3. went back to bed....on my back (but Im a side sleeper)
4. did a mix of breath counting and Clairity's "alphabet" technique
5. continued this for...im not sure how long...but now
6. *gap in memory/consciousness maybe (i can't imagine it was very long at all)*
7. sitting up in my bed...I reality check on my clock...and I'm dreaming!
8. i explore the lucid world for a while....then
9. *short gap in recall*
10. sitting up in my bed...i reality check on my clock...and I'm dreaming
11. I explore the lucid world for a while...then
12. *short gap in recall*
13. sitting up in my bed...i reality check on my clock...and I'm dreaming
14. I explore the lucid world for a while...then
15. *short gap in recall*
16. sitting up in my bed...i reality check on my clock...and I'm dreaming
17. I explore the lucid world for a while...then
18. woke up....remembered it...and went to sleep
i may add...I went back to bed at 5...and when I woke (at step 18) it was 5:35. Hence, why i believe my gaps in recall of being awake may be very short...
I HAVE no idea what happened...the weird gaps before my RCs lead me to believe I fell asleep....I felt no transition...not "shift in awareness".
I always thought WILD was constantly conscious...but I have these massive blanks?
so i thought...I don't know what happened...but I dont think it was WILD....
but then i think to myself....i don't use my bedside clock for reality checks...i use my wristwatch....and Id probably only done 3 RCs that entire day. I never even thought of my dream starting in my bedroom or anything? I had no VILD prepared, so it wasnt that...
hence WILD-ILD! its like i induced lucid dreams by failing WILD, or are these weird gaps in my recall JUST before I beging my dream normal?
any help would be great! id never read anything like this on dreamviews before! If it was wild...HOORAY!
4 lucids in one night is awesome...even though i only remember 2!

If I try to WILD, I'm more likely to fall asleep and have a DILD than I am to have a successful WILD.
-
but four...at exactly the same place?
also why would I RC? nothing is abnormal about being in bed?
(thought id add: its taken me since April to rack up the 4 memorable DILDs I've had...so I dont know if 4 in one night is likely!)

Hey there,
It seems to me like you fell asleep each time, and then had a DILD in a false awakening in your bedroom.
The reason you keep returning to your bedroom like that is because you're still in very very light sleep. In essence your mind is still processing a lot of stimuli your body is sending (the feeling of the bed, the sounds of the bedroom, etc), which is why each time you dream about a false awakening in your actual enviroment.
Just my 2 cents,

mmm...sounds plausible...i had my hopes up that i succeeded at wild hahah
its just in the past i've failed at F.A...every time...
i just wonder how trying to WILD made me SO much more aware that I was dreaming.
Like...in the past. i had an FA...and there were birds walking on my bedroom floor and i didnt RC....
but last night...4 times...i found myself in the dark and RCd for no aparent reason

ah, i was reading in lucid experiences this post about shayla's wild...
"heard strange, muffled noisese, and felt this icy chill through my body. I was so scared that I snapped out of it. I tried again, but then I woke up and looked at my clock, which said '5:15' and just figured it didn't work. I got up, yawned, and went to go use the bathroom. My vision was really hazy, which I thought was just me being tired, then I thought 'what if I'm dreaming?' I looked down at my hands, and only had 3 fingers on each"
too which people agreed was a WILD.
does anyone think I wilded... followed by 3 false awakenings?

I think you did a WILD. Usually there is a part of the awake part of the WILD that is forgotten. And you seem to have several FAs in there too.
