maybe wild?/question
yo so last night i went to bed, and this isnt after 6 hours or anything, this is for the first time of the night. after lying in bed for a while (and might i add, for some reason that night i felt very relaxed and peaceful and comfortable), i started to feel vibrations kinda running up and down me (i dont remember seeing any hypnogogic imagery, but i think earlier i did hear some wierd sounds), and i felt very heavy. i'm not sure if i identified these as wild signs at the time or later, but either way, for some reason, i moved, and everything went away. so i was wondering if you guys think if that was the beginning of a wild or not.
however, the real question i wanted to ask was if you can do wilds early on in the night. i've heard otherwise, but i'm curious as to what would have happened if i had kept on going with it. p.s. omg i feel so close to having a full-fledged ld! i'm crossing my fingers for tonight!

ah, good to see another Dream Theater fan!
those images/sounds you may hear are called hypnogogia (spelling err). like...little hallucinations. And yes, many people experience them when going about WILDing; but you also may get them when you are just really tired and going to sleep. The trick is to watch those without concentrating too much, or so Im told. easier said than done!
and; few people can WILD at the beginning of the night; but the majority find awakenings and WBTBs the most effective
you might like to see this too (about early WILDing)

well, ive had many many expierences like that, and yea , you are close, i'd say if you focus on your breathing passivly, you will see some hypnogogic imagery coming up, and if you keep that up for a little while, you'll feel some sort of shift, and wham, lucid! :3
Well, this was for me though, all expierences can differ, but, keep this up and youll have a WILD! :D

sorry, i also have just a general wild question. last night, i think i may or may not have seen some wierd hypnagogic imagery (something like some big multicolored elevator, and i was ascending in it), like i saw it, but it wasnt super real, like i was seeing it with my eyes in real life. but that's besides the point. the other thing that happened that night was, as i was laying there, i eventually felt really relaxed and heavy. and then i had this odd sensation like a switch or transition in the way i felt my body - like i felt kind of detached from my body. however, i wasnt sure if i had entered sleep paralysis, or if i just couldnt really feel my limbs cause i hadnt really moved that much and maybe my circulation wasnt really functioning that well. and at that point, i dont think i had heard anything or felt any vibrations. well anyway, just to be sure, i tried to move, and i did. and eventually i "fell asleep". so i was wondering - do you guys think i fell asleep and was never really in sleep paralysis, or i was just in a dream of me in bed, and lost lucidity? and of course, the only person who could really be the judge of the situation is me, but i'm just wondering if you guys have any insight on the matter. thanks
oh and p.s. - if i were to succesfully wild in the beginning of the night, how long would the dream (rem period) last?

Hey Carpets.
I have just replied to your last post here on another thread. You have doubled up.
From my experience, the best time to achieve a WILD is when you are about to take an afternoon siesta. It is usually a light sleep in the REM stage which is the ideal situation for a LD. As stated by others, achieving a WILD at the beginning of the night is normally reserved for those more experienced or complete naturals.
