Hey.. um 'lucid dream god'...
I have the same problem on occasion
Its important to remember that what might work for one person doesn't necessarily work so well for another. Eg. visually incubating a dream. Many have problems visualising.
I suggest you try another method of inducing lucid dreams
Generally I see there being two distinct varieties of techniques - dream induced and wake induced. Basically 'become lucid because of something in the dream' or 'become lucid because of something I did directly in the waking world'.
Eg. a WILD with WB2B (which it sounds like you were doing) is a wake induced method.
Perhaps an option would be to try a dream induced method eg. a stopwatch that has a mild sound that plays every hour or so while asleep. Soft enough not to wake you but loud enough to influence your dreams.
(Usually your dream ends up incorporating the sound, and if you are looking out for it, you can use it as your cue  )
You can search around in the tutorials for more info on the various options ;)
If you wake and can't sleep, why not drink some warm milk or eat something.. or read! Reading at night works like a charm for me. ;) Or, maybe if you're waking up after say like 6 hours of sleep, try reducing it to 5 and see what happens.
I find WILD impossible. I have tried it a couple of times. once I sat in a chair and started losing the feeling in my hands, I thought I was laying down for a min, and thats as close as I got to a WILD. when I was little and did not know anything about LDing I use to close my eye's and see very vivid flashs of light, bright light. but I am broke for now. But when I get money(when my report card comes) I will get a stop watch.
Good idea scwigglie, now I remember I use to read after WBTB, I red EtWoLD by stephen laberge!
I only got that far the first few tmes, t doesn't come just like that you know.Quote:

It is supposed to take some time.
Dont expect to fall asleep in 5-10 minutes after 6 hours of sleep and 20-
40 min of waking activity :/ Most of my LDs happen after about 30 min or so..
yeah during my wilds, it usually took 30-40mins before i fell into my dreams, and there was plenty of moving around, you dont have to lay still. A good way to wake up your mind but keep the body tired is to go for a drive, the two times i've tried to wild after having to drive early in the morning they were awesome. you can try melatonin with b-6, that way when you wake up, it should be much easier to fall asleep with the melatonin in your system, works for me :)
I wish I could take a drive but I'm 14.
I had 2, 3 hour (dream time) lucids rate after another. every lucid dream I have comes from paralysis, I just relax in sleep paralysis then I am standing up. I also had my first lucid flight! :D I red rate before I went back to sleep (sleep paralysis happens almost every time I read). It took me 30 mins because my dog kept me up.
Did you achieve that with a WILD?Quote:

I wonder if it'd be possible to go from waking to LDing when you first go to bed, if you're really tired. I imagine not, because of your sleep cycles, but I was hoping to get this confirmed nontheless. :)
I believe Dr. LaBerge said that it can be done by waking from REM and going back to sleep or during an afternoon nap. So it can be induced without sleeping for a couple of hours but only in an afternoon nap. I'm not exactly sure why but naps tend to jump straight to REM as Dr. LaBerge implies.Quote:

Really! That's enlightening. Although I don't think I ever remember having a dream while napping.
Thanks for the reply!
also, you can always just spend less time awake during your WBTB. the less your awake the easier it is to fall back asleep...
if you have trouble getting to sleep during WBTB, then afternoon naps will probably be difficult to... but there's no reason you shouldn't give it a try. you might stumble on your miracle technique
yeah, without even knowing it, the first time i tried to LD by WILD I did it, and the next 4 times to, 5 in a row, before that i never had LD that at least i remembered in my life. After reading so much about it and getting my recall back, i just did it and it worked. Lately i haven't been trying it at all, and the times i've had i've just fallen back asleep but with just a good recall. The other day I had a LD dream out of the blue, and it was my first dream inuduced lucid dream i've ever had. I used clocks and numbers on peoples shirt to become lucid. LDing just takes time and a lil effort my friends....couple months ago, or whenever it says i joined, before that i never rememberd a dream, ever. its sweet what you can train the mind to do.
ps. i'm very drunk....sorry about any gramatical errors...
