I've heard varied opinions on this, some people say it's when they feel SP wash over them, others say a second wave of SP is the key, I've also heard that you can simply tell when the HI hits and you can step into the dream. But as a newb, I'm not sure what I should expect for my first serious WILD attempt tonight.
hmm.... it's probably different for different people. But if you can fly or float in normal lucid dreams, try that at first. Also wait until the scene around you is clear or all around you, sometimes at first its hazy or not complete. Try moving your head at first if you cant fly or float, but if you feel like it's slipping away I'd say try anyway, like looking at your hands and rubbing them to get yourself more focused.
What I experience before a WILD is the scene or whatever becomes really bright, and once I'm fully in it I can walk around and I just do it without thinking about it really.
I hope it works, but as you've probably read around here, it's very difficult to do. I haven't had many while trying, they usually come randomly.

I've tried WILD a few times but never done it successfully, I've gotten a few odd sensations but that's about it. One time it felt like my head was pressing against a wall when it clearly wasn't. It was really convincing though, I nearly opened my eyes just to check. Anyway back to the point I'd like to know this too.
I've felt that too. After a short while it felt like my head was getting numb from it. Sounds like you were close!Quote:

Everyone always asks about SP, but it's not totally necessary. I've had a few WILDs without experiencing SP, I felt like I just went right into the dream. I'm sure I had SP, I just didn't experience it.
The best advice I can give you is to look at Clarity's guide if you haven't yet. Since it tells you a lot of good stuff like when to do it and how to prepare.
Other than that, try to visualize a place in your head. For me it suddenly gets really bright and soon after I can move around.
I'm not sure if anyone else experiences this, but I feel like my love for falling in dreams has made it easier to do WILDs. I used to have dreams and lucid dreams where I fell through a void and I could feel the air resistance and the sort of tingly feeling as you realize theres no ground beneath you and you dont know where it is, and you keep falling faster and faster. It's one of the most exhilarating experiences I can recall. In a few WILDs I felt SP and started falling. To me it just seems like the easiest way to get into a dream. You don't really need a scene and don't really need to move, you just fall, and that gets you situated in the dream, and then I end up somewhere random whenever I feel like stopping.
I hope you guys get one, just remember not to get frustrated, that just makes it harder and doesn't help. I've had most of my WILDs without trying so I wouldn't try to hard. I don't know though, maybe it's different for you.
Well my first attempt I felt the uncomfortableness that you're meant to ride out which is supposedly your body testing to see whether your mind's awake by "asking it to move to a more comfortable position", and I shifted my position. The second time I fell asleep, and the third my alarm went off, I was in a bad mood, was extremely tired and figured I'd have no chance of succeeding with how angry I was. But tonight I'm going to combine WBTB with WILD and get my first real lucid dream :D
I'm trying a WILD tonight as well. Was going to try last night, woke up at 5 decided I was too tired and thought a break from trying to lucid dreams would help. I hope we both succeed Ocelot. Just out of curiosity, are you a MGS fan as your name would suggest?

Yeah it's really kinda hard to know when to move, but I sincerely think the key is trial (and success? :P). I think that for a first time, you really must risk. But once you get used to it, you'll know when the time is right :P Afterall no person is like the other (especially concerning LDing hehe :P)
And yeah Clairity's tutorial is the best there is, in my opinion.
here is what i do. when the vibrations start, imagine yourself rolling out of your bed and hitting the ground. You will feel this start happening. Of course it really isnt happening, its just happening to you dream body. When the vibrations or sp or whatever stop and you are still on the ground, you know its safe to get up and wander around :). if you are back in your bed however, you might want to wait till the next wave.
When I start controling my body as if it where my physical body. Usualy a wild is like my focus gos from my physical then I imagen rolling in my dream body, and eventually I put more and more of myself into it, till I can control it physicaly.
Thats just from deild though, I havn't had a real wild.
