State of mind restriction before WILD?

I have noticed that there is a certain "state of mind" or whatever you call it before I can WILD. I pretty much know before hand that I will be able to WILD, or at least come close.

I think it's HI, where I get random 3D scenes in my head soon after I close my eyes. The thing is , I have no idea how to get into this state of mind. It has always happened randomly.

Last night I recognized it , and I was excited that I may have a WILD, but it turned out to be my first scary WILD experience.

I was laying down to sleep and I started seeing a dark room, my normal HI. This usually gets really bright at a certain point and I have all those weird sensations. But this time it stayed dark and I saw a face in the distance. My vision or body zoomed towards the face really fast and it scared me a lot. I've never had an experience that was that scary before a WILD. I've felt weird sensations, but they were just weird, not really uncomfortable or scary. But seeing this face in darkness had a powerful effect on me.

After that I tried to get into it again, but I couldn't and fell asleep.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this "state of mind restriction" that seems to randomly occur. I was also wondering if anyone has any technique or method to attain this state of mind or to attain HI. I have read a bunch of peoples methods but I was wondering if my situation is different. I can't, or haven't yet, been able to WILD without randomly having HI. Other people seem to be able to make it happen, but for me its either I am randomly able to, without even trying really, or I can't.
