Help...
Okay, so I tried to WILD last night (unsuccessfully), so I just fell asleep telling myself that I would become lucid. I wake up in my dream body and pinch my dream nose and breathe in dream air, then I shout "I'm lucid!" then I wake up, except I didn't wake up in real life, I woke up in a dream, and the dream played out by itself. Is there anyway I could prevent that from happening again?

ok...first off...WILD's are normally attempted after about 6 hours of sleep. And by the sounds of it, you've had a False Awakening (FA). FA's are usually a good sign for you to recognize your dreaming. So just brush up on your dream journal, practice dream recall and you should be up and running with LD's in no time. I don't really have time to go through it all right now, so i'm sorry if this was really limited. If you've got any questions just PM me.

If you are a FA person then consider periodic reality checks. Just periodically ask yourself throughout the day whether you are dreaming or not, or attempt something impossible in the real world. Once this is a habit you'll be lucid in your next FA.

I would also try looking around your bed room if thats where you wake up. Look around and see if there is some thign in your room that you don't own in the wakeing world. This always works for me when I FA!
