WILD Questions
I read the following post on WILD:
http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=1886
And I have some questions on the method.
It says fall asleep for 5-6 hours. Does this mean fall asleep for 5-6 hours for some nights before attempting, or the same night that you are attempting? Would that mean that you need to find a way to wake yourself up after 5-6 hours?
Also, it says stay awake for 30-60 minutes. Why exactly is this? If I stay up that long I become the same as I would be normally. Could I just attempt right after I wake up?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hey a few points to consider from your questions.
- When it says fall to sleep for 5-6 hours this is the night you are attempting the WILD - basically you only really sleep in stages 4 and 5 after 5 hours of sleep - all the earlier stages of sleep (1,2 & 3) you don't enter after 5 hours - so we say to wake up after 5 so predominately you are REM sleep after this time and in increased chance of successfully achieving a WILD
- You dont have to stay awake for 30-60 minutes - this is just one version of the technique. When I WILD I am only awake for 5-7 minutes, this is because that is the amount of time which works well for me. You just have to try it and vary to what works best for you :)
If you have any more questions please ask :D

I'd say experimenting is the best way.
My best WILDs are in the morning (set your alarm a bit early)

i dont go for that whole 30-60 minutes bullshit. cause im one of those guys that if im up for that long i cant get back to sleep and its frustrating.
what i do, is i have my motorolla phone which has 5 alarms on it. i have one at 6, then 630, then 7, then 730, then 8. after the first one goes off, i just relax and try to stare at the hypnagogic imagery and let myself be pulled into the dream. if you do it RIGHT after waking up, itll take probably 1 minute tops to WILD. trouble is, you may be tired enough to fail WILD and just slip into dreamland nonlucid, like i always do. but then again WILD isnt my thing. ive had more luck with DILDs

Thanks for all the responses, but I have one more question.
When you try to WILD, do you want to still be a bit sleepy? Should I stay awake until I'm thinking clearly or try it as soon as I can?
-
Well for me, i dont get out of bed even. I just snooze the alarm and try to go back to sleep while in the phased out stage already.
My problem is that once i get out of bed, i will be too mentally awake to go back to bed.
My other problem is that i cant seem to concentrate enough not to move when im that sleepy.
Ill start the WILD just fine, then 10 mins later, ill turn to one side because i forgot i was supposed to stay still.
