The WBTB technique? (YouTube!)

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and very impressed of the kind and experienced community here at Dream Views. Many topics and a lot of interesting threads.

What struck me is that the "Wake-Back-To-Bed" technique is nowhere to be found here :roll:. Many lucid dreamers are working with WILD and MILD. Note that the effectiviness of these techniques is greatly increased when implemented during a brief period of wakefulness near the end of the sleep cycle. Moreover, OBE's are especially prone to wakefulness and sleep paralysis which can be induced more easily in the later part of the morning.

Some time ago I produced 10 high quality (10 minute) lucid dream lessons on YouTube, showing how to apply the Wake-Back-To-Bed technique to induce lucid dreams the quickest. It might support your lucid dream explorations too when combined with MILD or WILD. I've had hundreds of lucid dreams using this technique.

There is a lot of emphasis in the WBTB technique, it's just that it's not mentioned too much in the forums because in most of the cases, talking about WILD automatically involves WBTB.

People do use WBTB. I'm guessing some don't use because they would lose precious sleep which is needed for a healthy and a productive life (and not to fail work/school). But it is still used along with WILDs.

Ah great, I still have to get used to the tutorials vs threads structure :)

Recognised the Dutch accent right away. I'm Dutch too. :)

I didn't know the university of Twente did that. Not that I know that much of that university.

Well, I'm currently doing research to foster online educational support for "prospective memory" which is key to the effectiveness of the MILD-technique: Remembering to do something in the future (= remembering the state of dreaming when recognizing a dreamsign).

Although Twente University's Faculty of Behavioral Science (Educational Science included) has a lot of expertise in online educational support of psychological phenomena, I'm doing my graduation on bringing the 'psychological phenomenon' of prospective memory into the context of lucid dreaming. Something that hasn't been done before.

To my opinion there is a lot of research going on that concerns primarily of the nature of lucid dreaming, but virtually no research is done to improve the educational support for lucid dreaming (external induction devices excluded (NovaDreamer, etc)). Lucid dreaming has become a popular global phenomenon. That is why I feel the need for proper learning material must be met and is therefore freely available at my own website (Lucidipedia.com). Still, very little is known about the core strengths of the expert lucid dreamers out there.

Hopefully more and more students will be introduced to the world of lucid dreaming and use their graduation work on contributing to the lucid dream community. I'm sure you guys are doing the same by representing this vast online lucid dream community :)

Meanwhile, I'll keep researching ;)

except that that doesn't link to a WBTB tutorial, or lesson, that links to a video of you introducing yourself and talking about who you are and the website you created and what you think of lucid dreaming, ect ect ect. Could you possibly link directly to the actual video lesson about WBTB?

We all seem to take WBTB to be a granted technique. Your tutorial videos proved me wrong. I dont know, if they gave me enough motivation or if it was becouse i was finally aware what to do while WBTB. But i have two chained lucid dreams. Actually it was my first lucid experience which took more than 30 seconds. Actually it was about 25 minutes. The key points in your presentation for me were:

1. You finally cleared for me, whats motivation about
2. I used rubbing of hands for the first time and, well it worked perfectly . I will spread the word lucidipedia everywhere possible. Thanx for help.

Just have to say that I really like the way the lucipedia site is organized (The 9 step matrix is helpful) and the videos are really well done, watched all of them! It's cool how you bring the viewer with you through your WBTB process and even in a staged lucid dream. I tried following your suggestions for my WBTB last night and it resulted in two lucids, thanks for sharing lucipedia!

Im new at lucid dreaming and I have been trying WBTB. I still havn't gotten a lucid befor. Im a MILDer and I plan on using WBTB everyonce in a while when I have enough time to sleep. Il make shure to watch this when I wake up at 4:00 tomarow morning. ^_^
