What genre are these techniques?

i know iv got another topic going right now...but this intrigues me.

I was reading about the forum 'whats the craziest technique you have gotten to work?' and I stumbled across two techniques Clairity wrote about:

both involve lying still to sleep and periodically checking reality.

This kind of reminded me of FILD...(which is more of a WILD technique I know but same period reality checking)

.However this got me thinking....what are these techniques classified as?

I mean they all involve

1 - going to sleep with the intention to periodically checking reality

however, no mantra like a mild

2 - checking reality until you enter a dream.

THey sound like they work by dreaming about remembering to check reality

not MILD which is....using a mantra to do the above

or WILD which does not involve losing consciousness at all.

They sound like good areas for future trials to me as they seem to be pretty simple.

Any thoughts from anyone? or similar techniques?

Hopefully someone can pinpoint what genre they belong to (or at least the genre they're associated with).

I was mainly asking because they didnt seem to fit into any of the main-stream techniques.

Its like a mild/wbtb...but instead of waiting until a dream to practice your affirmation I guess...

Ill add trying these ideas to my 'to do' list

Hey, I remember thinking the flash-light technique sounded pretty cool...I need to try that one again. I think I tried it once, didn't work forgot about it.

Clairity, I got that talking watch..but it never worked for me. It just irritated my BF, and I threw it in a drawer and periodically we heard a rooster crowing from inside. I ended up giving it to a "special" cousin of mine, who enjoyed it immensely. So happy ending for the watch, if not for my dreams. :)
