Sensory Deprivation Chamber

I stumbled upon some info on these things called sensory deprivation chambers about a month back. Has anybody ever heard of them or experienced one?

Basically, from what I read, it's like a "pod" that's filled a little with water and a lot with epsom salt I think. It's a completely dark chamber and it's supposed to give you the feeling of weightlessness and completely deprive you of all of your senses.

What I'm speculating is if this would be a good conductor of lucid dreams. Assuming you were in one long enough to fall asleep. I believe it would be safe - I think the water level is fairly low.

Has anybody else read anything about it or even been in one?

I'd LOVE to try it.

That does sound really cool.

It seems that the environment would be great for lucid dreaming.

The total soundness of mind that would come from it attracts me very much.

How do you get one/use one/locate a place that has them?

I looked around a bit and I found the website www.floatfinder.com. It has a bunch of locations for places where you can try out the chamber (called an isolation tank or a think tank). My net's being slow, but I know from researching before that there's places in California where you can do an hour or two sesson for a set rate - I wanna say it was around fifty bucks, maybe less.

It would definitely be worth checking out!
