How do you stop an idea that is preventing control, LD's, and even good recall?

So, I had somehow gotten this idea that dreams were not just in your head and the problems I was having with OCD were because of a demon. Don't laugh please. My cat had a heart attack and died shortly after a strange dream and after reading in a book, the title I don't recall, that dreams were really astral plane events and that even if you seen movie characters that was just how you were experiencing astral spirits or entities.

At any rate, I can't seem to rid myself of this fear and this idea that dreams are not 'just in your head' and that could also be why it is so hard to control the dreams or get lucid, as we all have experienced.

I also feel like I am being watched sometimes because there seems to be this man or someone in the form of a man who appears regularly.

Also, many months ago I had this strange dream where I was parcially lucid and got up from my bed and with my eyes closed, yet I could still see, I was dancing to some music and then when I opened my eyes there was a rotting corpse right in my face staring at me. When I woke the image was so strong in my mind I could see the face everytime I closed my eyes and I felt a strong burning in my brain somewhere around the forehead. Once I was awake I wasn't scared but I wonder why I had that dream.

What do you all think?

I reccommend that you don't try to recall, have a lucid dream, etc. for a few days or weeks. Are you only experiencing this when trying to recall or have a lucid dream?

I used to have many rotting corpses, demons and monsters in any form of dream wherein I couldn't control it, or even if I could control it, not being lucid (believing the dream to be real, but also being concious).

I don't know about the rest of your problems that you have stated, but as far as the dream demons go, just try to get yourself lucid and face them. They may "kill" you (whereupon you are awakened), but don't worry--you will eventually get used to them, and perhaps be able to run away or fight back. Try both, because even if you can't supress their attacks, chase scenes are still epic :j

Whether or not you are able to ever become lucid and storng enoug to face them is irrelevant. Eventually they will not be a major part of your dreams anymore; you will simply grow out of them. I know because I did. They only appear now when I expect them to. The scariest thing I've seen in my lucids now has been a dude I know looking like a petit, pruny 40 year old woman. o_O

I don't think anybody could prove tthat dreams are all in your head, but rationally, if you think about it, you will realize that no one has ever really been hurt by anything in a dream. Try to remember that; I know it's hard when it's actually happening but if you think about it enough while you are awake it will help. The only thing that matters is how you react. I think ImageAll is correct in saying that you should face whatever is scaring you in dreams, and it will go away. Maybe you should re-read the section on nightmares in EWOLD.
