      Smell Induced Lucid Dreaming (SILD)

Welcome to my tutorial of my new technique into entering lucid dreaming.

Smell Induced Lucid Dreaming Abbreviation SILD.

The concept of this technique is to use the Sense of smell to help enhance or maybe even induce a lucid Dream.

      Ok here goes.

This can be used when either entering sleep or WBTB (I find doing an WBTB easier than just falling asleep) Before entering Sleep Spray a Perfume or anything with a gentle or sweet smell onto the back of your hand . While in your bed smell the Perfume or what ever you've used. Don't sniff strongly, just embrace the fragrance.

During this time its ideal to imagine your self in a peaceful place like a pasture. During embracing the fragrance try to remember how the fragrance smells and try to keep that in mind upon going to bed. Now after 5 minutes are done, find a comfortable position and start imagining the smell of the fragrance and you in the pasture. Keep on doing this until you fall asleep.

      Small FAQ:

      1. How long should I embrace the smell for
5 minutes is the ideal time

      2. Can I fuse this with any other techniques Like WILD?
Sure, It's already basically VILD With Smell

      3. Is there an 100% chance this will work
No, there is no technique out for lucid dreaming that will work 100% of the time neither

      4. I don't have any Fragrance products what do I do?
This may sound nasty but you can substitute for juice, it'll have the same effect!

Wait, have you had any lucid dreams?

Well, regardless, keep thinking up things, something will work for you or someone else.

      Cool.

I'd test it out, but my sense of smell has been messed up for a year or two due to some sinus problems.

Hrm I don't know about this technque, seems like it could either work or not. Not sure what to make of it, it seems well thought out and could work in theory but then again I can't it being that effective.

Good luck and tell us your results.

I dont know really what to say directly about this technique, couse i never experienced it, but it is said, that smell is strongly associated with remembering. It is one of the sensoric channel most of the people are not aware most of the time, so it might bring some fresh results also in area of lucid dreaming.

This isn't an entirely new concept. The Japanese Yomemi Kobo uses fragrances as well as sounds to help induce LD in conjunction with REM cycles.

I tried it with blackberry juice. It lost the smell after a while, so I'll have to use something else next time.

I've tried this off and on with several different scents, and never had any luck.

How long did you try this technique for? Approximately?

I guess I've tried it for 3 or 4 days in a row, maybe 3 or 4 different times. Nothing.
