No more Lucids for me, RCs dont work..

From 3 months (+/- few weeks) RCs stop working for me. I was using the nose pinch RC, but I discovered at some point in January, that I cant breath with my nose pinched in a ld in a dream. This made my lucids go down. I now have a ld 1-2 times a moth.. and, cuz I dont make a RC I get in the dream scenario pretty quick, and can have some meaningfull ld. I decided to replace the RC with the "looking at the hands rc", but I dont remember to do it in a dream. This night, I had a lucid moment, but I got in a FA, and later on in the dream, when I was trying to determinate if I am still dreaming, the nose rc didnt work like 5-6 times, and the hand looking failed, too. I dont know what to do. I cant do as much as before, cuz I have really rare, really small lucids, and I cant make em go more. Thats shit.. Someone with advice? May be someone knows good RC that doesnt fail that much? :(

Of course they don't work. As expressed by the title of your post, you don't expect them to. Each time you do a reality check in real life, you must affirm what the reality check should feel like when dreaming.

Also, if you hold your breath in a dream, you hold it in real life (LaBerge says so). Make sure you don't hold your breath when you do the nose check. Actually force yourself to breathe in or out. You'll do the same thing in a dream, and shouldn't be able to ignore the accompanying sounds and lack of pressure.

If done properly, reality checks should never wear off. If all else fails, try a text/digital watch check.

She's right. RCs are about our expectations, the act themselves are... novel at best.

What I mean is, you could slap your arm REALLY hard and if there's a red hand print, you're not dreaming. That is a perfectly valid RC, if you make it work.

You could look at your thumb. If it bends backwards, you are dreaming.

Literally anything can be an RC, if you question which state of reality you are in when you do them.

Change your RC to The DIGITAL watch/clock RC. It's a die-hard RC for me. It's impossible not to work because your sleeping mind cannot deal with numbers.

Every night put a peice of paper in your pocket that says YOU'RE DREAMING real big on it. As an RC, reach in your pocket and see if it's there. Just remember to take it out in the morning! O_o

Note: It might say something different in the dream, like BACON FRIDAY, cuz dreams can mess up text sometimes....

I did think of this paper RC but hasn't worked yet. I used a blank piece of paper. And if it's a dream it should have something on it.

It probably doesn't work BECAUSE you didn't write on it. You have to know what it's going to say, or it won't work. Next time try thinking that it it will specifically say LUCID on it.

Just let your expectations fall, and take your mind off of the assumption that RC's don't work. They will if you don't care, not to mention I mostly become lucid not by RC's but just spontaneously. I simply use RC's for confirmation, I wouldn't want to shoot someone and have it be real life, would I? xD

For the hand RC, try drawing a design on your hand. Don't even make it complex, just like a triangle or something. When you RC in your dream, it will either not be there or be deformed.

Look at your hands....I did that in an LD since I never looked before, I had 5 'fingers' but they were all nubs to the knuckle.

Can't you guys just feel it, that you are Lucid? I've done maybe 50 RC and I've had thousands of LDs. Just will yourself up, believe that you will float. that is the only RC I've ever done. I guess it comes or goes with time. I know when I started LD's I'd almost always discovered it was a LD because I just thought "Oh, hey it's a dream." Now my own little rc is if I wake up anywhere other than my bed, sometimes I'll have false awakenings but those can go Lucide if I just try to fly quickly.
