So lets clear this up: you were lucid, and the dream content regarded lucidity? Sounds normal.
I also had a simalar dream to this one; In reality, I was asleep, dreaming about being asleep and dreaming in a lucid state, and I knew that I was dreming, but I was watching my lucidity.

That sort of makes my brain hurt, but I think I see what you mean (thanks to that diagram.) I don't believe this has ever happened to me, but it doesn't seem that out of the ordinary.
could you have just been lucid and had a false awakening? it seems like you woke up from a dream but you were still dreaming. if not, how did you tell you were double dreaming or whatever?
I had a dream i was dreaming, but no lucidity involved.

that reminds me of a dream that I had where I found some lucid goggles, put them on, laid down to sleep, became lucid but never realized I could control anything.
