So, I decided to attempt a WILD this morning. I awoke at 8am having slept around six hours and was in bed nearly ten minutes later. It was rough at first, I couldn't get comfortable, sunlight made my room too bright and too warm, my dad was on the phone, and his television was annoying the hell out of me. But, I eventually got passed it, lol. I hit partial sleep paralysis a few times, but was unable to maintain the feeling for some reason. The last sleep paralysis I endured was the most interesting by far. Soon after beginning to feel the effects of paralysis, I began hearing high pitched screeching noises. Yes, they were annoying as hell, but I stuck with it. Eventually, the screeching ceased and other sounds began to emerge. Eventually, I noticed that my vision had changed - not my imagery - to a completly new perspective. Simultaneously, the hearing changed from external to internal and I heard my girlfriend say, "She's in the closet! Madeline's in the closet!" Realizing that this was impossible in reality, I made the decision to get out of my body, and for a moment it honestly felt like I was lifting out. However, around half-way through, I noticed something wasn't right. The sounds had stopped and the entire situation didn't feel "right." I opened my eyes, reality checked the clock, and sure enough, I was awake.
No doubt a cool experience and well worth the frustration the early morning hours posed, but what happened? Was I simply in sleep paralysis listening to audible hallucinations? Was I in a dream and ruined it somehow?
