Dazed as I was from the previous encounter, I began to take in my surroundings. I looked around and noticed the fog which had started to become more profound, covering the usual roughly visible texture of the trees, and limiting the distance I could see. I was lost and unable to find a path to follow, so I looked back towards the direction I came from... trying to find a window of some sort to relate to. Yet there was no window - I had entered an inescapable forest of illusion and darkness. My peripheral vision caught onto some swift movements in all directions, and I felt a certain panoramic view of the events occurring around me. I was suddenly struck by a vine, lashing out from a nearby tree, where I immediately fell to the ground in unexplainable, non-existent pain. I lay on my back, staring at the tree canopies above me as I was slowly sucked into the grass, vines, and mud beneath me. I tried to scream, but all the resulted was a muffled "Hmph," and the inability to control my body.
I was swallowed whole, and then felt a sudden sensation I had never experienced before. It was like an empty nothingness. I felt wind rushing past my face and registered the fact that I was falling through the blackness... It seemed I was falling forever when I suddenly crashed into solid rock. My body ached in excruciating pain, and I could barely move. My vision blurred, and I wavered near unconsciousness. After a while the pain subsided and I began to register my surroundings. I was in a dark cave, the walls a greyish-blue color, and far off in the distance I could hear the steady drip...drip...drip of water falling...
