proper way to use B6?
Hey just last saturday i sneaked a bottle of vitamin B6 and hid it behind a gallon of water so the cashier lady would check it out without my parents finding out. Then on sunday night i decided to use it I swallowed one pill with some water at 12:17 AM then i fell asleep i woke up at 8:30 am not remembering any of my dreams. How come the B6 didn't work  ?!? Did i take it to early ? Or was i supposed to take it an hour before REM period so i could LD better? Some one please tell me the proper way to use Vitamin B6 and your welcome to tell any Lucid dreaming experiences with the use of vitamin B6. Because i need to use the B6 the proper way tonight.

Patience. This isn't a miracle pill. But I need to ask some questions.
What's the strength? How much %DV?
How old are you?
WHy do you need to sneak B6?
I have taken B6, Id say, about 10 times. And I didnt become lucid s single one of those times. But I had some crazy dreams. I was taking 5,000%DV and sometimes 10,000%DV. Id take it rigth as I was going to sleep.

Maybe they are just small pills. You need to take about 50-100mg dose to get good effects.
The pills I got were only 10mg each so I have to take about 10 of the damn things.

Yeah I'd just like to add that B6 won't just give you LDs out of nowhere.. it should be combined with a few techniques atleast. And it has never given me a LD either, just crazier dreams, much like gameover said. ;)
By the way, in the FAQ it says the amount that's naturally needed for people, but to get an effect while dreaming, most people take between 50mg-200mg.

first of all i'm 14 and a half. the reason why i snuck the B6 is to escape explaining the whole story of buying it . And the B6 is about 100mg per pill it said 5000% on the back

Is it better to take just a B6 vitamin or would a B-complex with all of the other B's mixed in work just as well.
I think I'll go for as big of a dose as I can find. The crazier the dreams the better, because if they get crazy enough maybe that will jar something loose in my rock hard head to actual question myself that I am dreaming.
Thanks for the post Kitti I went all through those FAQ but didn't remember anything metioned about B6.

I don't mean to offend you but if you have to go through the touble of sneaking pills, paying for them, and have it not induce lucid dreams for you, its just not worth it. It may be a good way to start off, and experience a few lucid dreams, but i woulnd't pay for pills when its just as easy to put a little work into it and LD on your own. The crazy dreams can be a dreamsign for you,but rely more on basic technique than pills, it should save you a little cash down the road too. Just an opinion though.

Hey Hitti,
Here's something you might want to try. I'm an older person and this would work on me, so it should work on your parents. Just tell them you read how vitamin B6 can help people remember things easier and that you think it would help you be able to make better grades in school, so you would like to try it to see if it does help you remember things better.
Ask them if they will buy you a bottle of 100mg or larger Vitamin B6 the next time you are in the store. How could they refuse wanting to do something that would help their daughter whom I sure they love very much improve her memory.
Once again, thank you for sharing.

Thats a fantastic solution!!! It provides for a win-win situation.

Ya Ya i know . I asked my parents if i could by the B6 in the first place and i told them it would make me smarter and help me remember things but they said i didn't need it so i sneaked it. I used the vitamin last night and must i tell you my dreams have been really strange.

I did not write this and I don't remember where I found it, but here you go. I have been taking 50 mg of B-6, 500 mcg of B-12, 250 mg of B-1, and a multi-vitamin every day for weeks. They do help. B-6 can cause nerve damage if you take too much. Here are 2 good sites also:

"Do substances like drugs, herbs and foods affect our dreams?
Yes. During REM protein-synthesis is highly active, so your body needs high levels of amino acids. The neurotransmitter in use during REM is Acetylcholine. It is made from the B-vitamin Choline and the vitamin B-5.
But there are more vitamins that can make us dream more. The body can synthesis the B-vitamin Choline. But in order to do that it needs vitamin B-12, Folic acid (B-9), the amino acids Methionine and Serine. Vitamins B-12 plays a role in the activation of amino acids during
protein formation. It has also the ability to increase the production of Acetylcholine and normalize neurotransmissions in the brain.
Vitamin B-6 is another important vitamin. It is a co-enzyme, which participates in over 60 enzymatic reactions involved in the metabolism of amino acids. It is involved in the production of several body proteins and neurotransmitters. It is particularly indispensable to the action of amino acid neurotransmitters, like Serotonin, Dopamine, Melatonin, and Norepinephrine, which effect brain function. It is also involved in the metabolism of Selenium, Calcium, and Magnesium.
Melatonin is a neurotransmitter/hormone that is only active during sleep. It is being metabolized when you fall asleep from Serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is being metabolized from the amino acid Tryptophan. Melatonin increases non-REM sleep and makes it easier for you to fall asleep. But it has also an interesting rebound effect that gives more frequent and vivid dreams. The vividness might even give you a lucid dream.
The amino acid Tryptophan can be metabolized into Serotonin and Niacin (B-3). Vitamin B-6 promotes this conversion. Taking Niacin or Nicotine patches will increase the Serotonin production. The more Niacin you take, the more Serotonin is produced and more Melatonin is
metabolized. Calcium and Magnesium promotes Serotonin production as well. Zinc is in every cell of the body and is a part of over 200 enzymes, so Zinc supplements may increase REM-sleep, too.
DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) is a very important B-vitamin. It flows easily through the brain's blood barrier, where it is converted into Choline. During REM, Choline is added the coenzyme A (Vitamin B-5), and we have Acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter in use during REM.
5-HTP (5-Hydroxy-TryptoPhan) is a Serotonin precursor that also flows quite easy through the brain's blood barrier. It is a good alternative to Melatonin.
Vitamin C helps metabolizing several amino acids and hormones. It is also important to have adequate levels of amino acids. A few important ones are Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, Methionine, Cysteine, Serine and Tryptophan.
Using Tobacco, Alcohol or Coffee prohibits the absorption of necessary vitamins and amino acids. Depressants suppress REM sleep, one is Alcohol, but taken in right doses can create a rebound effect so that you wake up remembering many vivid dreams. And anti-depressants may
increase dream recall. Caffeine will make you sleep lighter, will increase your dream recall and maybe even give you a lucid dream. "
