I'm not entirely sure about the jump, but it could be that you neglected the visualizations and were surprised by one. When I start falling asleep in class, I often jerk back awake if something flys at me in a semi-dream state. Anyway, the key to WILD is A) finding the balance between sleepiness and alertness so that you can stay focused but fall asleep. and B) resisting the urge to move. When going to sleep, your mind falls asleep first and your body second. The intense urge to itch or move is a test your body uses to see if the mind is still awake. If you respond, you delay the whole process, but if you resist, the body will begin to shut down and SP will start soon. Glad to help. :-)
