Difficulty Breathing
Hey guys, its a problem i have every time I try to WILD or FILD and its pretty annoying.
Just to point out i do not have any sleeping disorders that prevent me from breathing properly or any problems breathing whilst i am going to sleep normaly.
Ok so im lying down in my bed in my most comfortable position, doing all of the normal things you do when you attempt to WILD etc but then after a feew minutes my head starts to spin and then i notice that my rate of breathing has decreased SOOOOO much. I know your breathing rate drops whislt going to sleep but not this much. I got all light headed and euphoric because of the lack of oxygen and eventually i have to stop because i cannot control my breathing.
If anyone else has this problem please reply.
as always, cheers for reading

It was your heart rate decreasing.
Maybe since you were so comfortable this happened
Just my 2 cents

Sounds a lot like SP (sleep paralysis) to me.
It happens to everyone during their sleep.
nothing to be afraid of... unless you're reallly superstitious and believes that there is a hag sitting on your chest ;)

lmao....noo dude... i dont mean to be rude but i know the difference between SP and difficulty breathing.
This happens about 5mins or so from SP but is very uncomfortable and i know that my breath intake has greatly decreased because i go light headed in a way that would ONLY point towards a lack of oxygen.

I know what you mean this happends to me to its just all in your head since your heart rate slows your body doesnt need as much oxegen an since your still awake when this happends you get all freaked out.
what i try to do is not think about it i just kinda forget it and think on something other than my breathing.
hope this help but then agien im not an expert on WILD.;)

Incorporate it into your "daydream" used during WILD, but if it becomes problematic, I would talk to a doctor. It may be some sleep apnya starting up, but don't quote me. And yes, you can develope it. My cousin joined the U.S. Marines, and developed sleep apnya. If you are really scared, just ask a doctor or health care person, but chances are you are fine. Just tell yourself "My breathing is fine, it is natural". Autosuggestion does wonders whenever you are WILDing, or any time you have a LD.

your breathing is fine, it is only an illusion that you cannot breathe well, all part of going into SP. It's ok, it happens to me everytime i try to WILD (although i never have succeeded but its not because of this)
its just an illusion

Yes, sometimes when I feel paralyzed, my breathing rate goes down to almost no breathing at all, and I force myself to breath
-
I've experienced that too!
When I try to WILD there sometimes will be a feeling as if I can't breath enough. Even if I try to get more oxygen it doesn't work, I would have to break up on it so I just leave my state as it is and progress and since I never died on it I will continue to do so. xD
I guess your brain wouldn't let you suffocate anyway.

I would also look at sleep apnea as a culprit. If you have a good health insurance plan, get a sleep study done. If not -
I too have experienced this during sleep paralysis, and recommend changing the posture of your neck as you fall asleep, as to open the airway. I ditched the pillow, and attempted to fall asleep in 'sniffing position', to allow maximum air flow.
I noticed as soon as I willed my neck to move to fix the breathing problem, I became conscious.

A lot of you are describing typical signs of SP and you should just ignore them.
