weird WILD
hello, i just had a couple of questions. i recently tried a WILD right after waking up in the morning, and so far it's been the most successful attempt.. kinda... I always wake up at an early time, and most of the time i'm still sleepy, so i decided to go back to sleep but try the WILD... and it was weird because i was laying in bed trying to remain conscious... and all of a sudden i was dreaming... but i was still thinking that i was trying to sleep... the change happened so fast that i did not even question wether or not i was dreaming. So i guess my question is, does this happen alot to you guys? if so, how do you get past this? the only method of lucidity i have been able to do is DILD which just kinda happens... but i can't control when it happens or the frequency of it. Also... in an "almost" DILD... i remember i did something that wish didn't happen, so the way i checked to see if i was dreaming is trying to control objects and things in my dream with my mind... the reason i did that is because in every single lucid dream that i've had, i've been able to control every aspect of my dream... and it gets better as i have more lucid dreams... so i really want to get this down :P... sorry for the long post, but what do you guys recommend me to do? should i continue trying WILDs, or try to improve DILD? thanks alot :D

I'm not that experienced myself, but I would say keep trying both then see what works better for you after you have done both a few times or attempted.

WILDs like that are pretty typical, I think. I don't experience them much (I mostly have DILDs, like you), but when I do, I just suddenly find myself dreaming without any break. Some people hear weird noises or see things as well.
To answer your question, both. You can't really hone your DILD skills per se other than keeping a dream journal to increase memory and heighten your recognition of Dream Signs, so I would suggest that. In the meantime, you can try sort of passively to WILD every now and then, but don't kill yourself trying to get one.
