In most WILD tutorials people recommend that you sleep for 3+ hours before attempting to WILD. Does anyone know if it is ncessary to sleep before WILDing, or can it be done as soon as you get into bed.

I did once and had a furious nightmare strangling my wife next to me who had turned into a vampire, but it was more like a movie. (like nature trying to say "Don't fuck with me")
But after that it was a false awakening and I went Lucid and on my journey out of the bedroom and into Lucid world.
(Btw my digital clock was really weird when i checked it and wrong color digits which I think was my RC)
You can WILD at the beginning of the night, but why would you want to? Sleep cycles are 90 minutes in length. At the beginning of the night, there is much NREM, and very little REM. As the night progresses, the frequencies reverse, and the REM becomes more vivid. So why would you want to WILD for 80 minutes, but only get ten minutes of low-quality dream? Why not wait until later, when you will get 40 minutes of NREM and 50 minutes of high-quality dream?
There are also physiological aspects to it as well, the main point being that for most people it is easier to fall asleep if they've already been asleep, while at the beginning of the night it takes longer. But I like to think of the former point as the deciding factor.
