Depends on experience. For me, a WILD from being wide awake takes about a half hour to get to SP, and then a comparably infinitesimal time to get from SP to the dream, because once you're in SP, getting into a dream is super easy.
Now, if you've just woken up and haven't moved, it can take mere seconds to get to SP.
It ranges from 5 minutes to 2 hours depending on the person. When you are trying to SP, don't try to think about time. Instead, think about nothing and focus on that emptiness.
How long does it take in the afternoon for someone not very experienced in WILD?
I usually get SP in a few minutes if im really really tired.
Auditory hallucinations within minutes.
Closed eye visuals usually take about 5-10 minutes, but I can see flashes of bright lights and patterns within 1-2 minutes.
The floating feeling usually within 1-2 minutes.
I can sometimes even get auditory hallucinations when Im fully awake. (?)
Im new to LDing tho, and have never managed to WILD.
You don't understand what is meant by "sleep paralysis" if you think you can just lie down and enter SP in seconds. Either that or you're narcoleptic.
