all that, is there a tutorial for it, and what exactly is it?
SP stands for Sleep Paralysis. There's no tutorial for it b/c its something everybody goes through everyday whether they're aware of it or not. Now, there is a technique called Wake-Induced Lucid Dream (WILD) in which you stay conscious long enough for you to realize that you've entered sleep paralysis if that's what you were looking for.
Sleep Paralysis. It's something your body does naturally every night when you sleep, paralyzing yourself so you don't actually do whatever it is you're doing in your dream. You are typically never awake during this. Most questions people have about it are related to WILD, where you experience sleep paralysis while still being conscious. Here's a mini tutorial for achieving sleep paralysis. Mostly a WILD one though.

If you look in the tutorial section, you'll find a decent post detailing the different acronyms, but since I'm too lazy to search it, I'll give you a bit.
Sp - sleep paralysis - wakeful state where your body is paralyzed, prepairing for entry into sleep.
LD - lucid dream.
CALD - character assisted lucid dream

If you're looking for tutorials, dreamviews is hands down the best imho. Search and you will find, ask and you will probably get a good answer. On the otherhand, if you are looking for friendly discussion and a generally more open community, you'll find a link in my siggy. (If you do, be sure to check out talon's cald technique. Doubt it has led to many a LD, but it is really fun.)
