Staying Lucid
The past few nights ive been having a lot of dreams and almost 3 times now ive become lucid and said to myself "i know im dreaming". My only problem is that i start to wake up shortly after realizing im dreaming. I dont think that im getting over excited though, because i remin perfectly calm. I just try to go along with the dream and all of a sudden everything just starts to fade and the more i try to stay in the dream the quicker i wake up. I read about rubbing your hands together to stay in a dream but havent tried it yet. Does anyone have any other advice?

Spinning around, focusing on an item, and trying more RCs. None of these work for me, but others seem to have positive results.

This has happened to me many times and still does, in fact. I dont have an answer for you because I dont have an answer for myself.:P I know exactly what you're talking about b/c I would be in a dream for about 5 minutes, as calm as a stone, and out of nowhere, the dream would slowly fade into reality. This has happened many times to me and Im still on the quest for an answer.
But I would try what Reality_is_a_Dream has advised and see if that helps.

Try and keep your mind in a stable mode every time this happens. While keeping awareness and calmness, think about nothing for as long as it takes for your dream to get back on its feet. Do this until the dream starts gaining stability. I had this just last night and fortunately was able to maintain in the dream by following this procedure. Good luck.
One more thing, once you start becoming a more expeienced lucid dreamer, things get much easier to understand and most of the times you'll know what to do in any other situation.

Your not getting excited, but what your are doing is just fading away from sleep. what you need to do is something that involves moving around in your dream/dream body. do things that create muscle tension, like spinning, rubbing hands, jumping around. all these things are ways to prolonge lucid dreams. find which one works best for you

I sometimes have this problem as well, but anything with my hands keeps me there. Sometimes I even starte touching DCs and I can hold onto my lucidity

I have found a technique that has helped me considerably in maintaining an LC. I have a room that I am very familiar with that I go to. When my dream starts to fade I spin to that room. In that room I have have more control over my dream then anywhere else. I can go from the room to other places but I come back when I need to save the dream or when I want to try something crazy.

You can just keep getting up from your bed in your dream not caring about how worn out everything is. Just keep persisting even if your vision turns grey or the dream gets such unstable that you need to reseperate in every minute. Just hold onto the dream. Eventually your body will make it to another sleep cycle and everything gets stable again.

I always have this problem. I always get too excited. I try spinning on a spot or focussing but I always just wake up. I think I just need to get more experience.
