Dream Yoga is traditionally an advanced Tibetan Buddhist meditation that is not attempted until the adept has gone through several layers of training. The Hindu version is called yoga nidra. So the techniques can sound pretty arcane at first to Westerners. but there's no harm in applying the foundational exercises of dream yoga to your life, in my opinion. in fact, i think it's a much saner way to approach lucid dreaming than the usual "control your dreams" attitude.
First, check out Alan B Wallace, an author who specializes in dream yoga. He works with Stephen LaBerge on some workshops too. Here's a recent podcast that interviews Wallace and he distinguishes dream yoga from lucid dreaming: http://personallifemedia.com/podcast...ing-dream-yoga
Second, here a link to a blog that started laying out the basics to dream yoga earlier this year. i think he's abandoned the project, so he'll probably love your questions if you email him! http://luciddreamyoga.blogspot.com/
Thirdly, try getting a hold of the book Tibetan Yogas of dream and sleep, by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. It's the most approachable book on the subject that I know of.
