Few Questions About WILD
1) How important is it that you stay as still as you can when trying to achieve one? This is a big turn-off for me, and find it very uncomfortable trying to attempt one, out of the 4-5 or so serious tries I've done.
2) Could I still WILD if I move around as I normally do on my bed, yet keep a certain state of mind that would make myself certain that I would dream that night and control it? Sorry if this question is long and confusing, but I'm tired and should get some rest right now. :P
3) Would trying to achieve a DILD be easier than trying to achieve a WILD? Is there any difference in terms of the effects of them?
This is my first* post, sorry if I've done anything wrong, such as posting in the wrong board. Anyway, yes, I'm keeping a DJ and have been keeping one for a few months now. I recall my dreams almost every night, so not much of a problem there. A few tips on how to achieve a WILD would be nice. Thanks!

Lying still is absolutely necessary, as tricking your body into falling asleep is one of the key things needed for accomplishing a WILD.

-This differs from person to person, to me it's very important. You'll have to experiment with it.

-I don't think so, your body will test you, the thing with WILD is that you have to trick your body into thinking that you're asleep.
3) Would trying to achieve a DILD be easier than trying to achieve a WILD? Is there any difference in terms of the effects of them?
-DILD is alot easier then WILD but you can't really control a DILD, with WILD you can just decide to have a lucid dream. I think that WILD isn't your technique because of your problems with moving. Try this technique : http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=65848 ;)

So far in the WILDs I have tried, I haven't been able to get very far. I only get about as far where your body starts feeling numb and can't move very easily. For example, a few of the times I tried them it took a while to recontrol my limbs when I decided to get up. Was I close? I feel like I can NEVER get past that certain point, which makes me feel the whole thing is rather pointless. I'm not sure how to get past that part without driving myself crazy.
Also, would listening to music affect anything at all? I have a lot of Pink Floyd I could be listening to while I try to WILD. ;)

Staying still is useful.
HOWEVER not if it become uncomfortable or painful.
Use common sense and you'll be fine.
Staying still but being uncomfortable is just as likely (if not more likely) to stop you entering a dream as moving needlessly.
Try your best to reduce movment to an absolute minimum.
If you don't need to move at all FANTASTIC!
If you're starting to ache or hurt, then just get comfortable.
THink about what you are trying to achieve...
Loss of input from your physical body so that your dream body can form and take its place as the focus of your mind.
If your physical body hurts or aches, it will stay the focus.
If your physical body moves, it will become the focus.
Find a balance between the two.
As long as you can make your physical body not be feeding too much information to your mind, then you'll be fine.
