Help With DEILD
When I attempt this, it's easy for me to say to myself: start here! I can form imagery very easily, but I can't get lucid. I just go along with whatever my initial thought was. I feel like I have so little time to impact what's going to happen next, since I'm awake for a minute or less.. How do I take control?

I have not tried DEILD myself but had similar techs that involved maintaining conciousness...it can be done provided your mind is anchored enough to the waking world. I used a tectile anchor, gripping onto a ball that had 'spikes'. I was able to maintain conciousness longer than without the anchor so maybe it will work with your DEILD problem.

You should only be awake for a few seconds, not a minute. You have to wake up, not move (don't even open your eyes) and just go right back to sleep consciously. Sounds like you are trying to WILD.

I have the same problem. This is how it goes for me...
I wake up, and then I think about the dream, I try to visualize. Then if lI ose concentration, I either fall into a dream I don't have control over, but remember being aware in the dream once I wake up. Or wake myself up thinking too much about the actual technique, than what I'm really supposed to be doing.

i have trouble with this too. I end up getting up to turn off my alarm, even though it'll go off in a few seconds. I need help too.
