My attempt at WILDing
So last week i started looking into lucid dreaming, and to start practicing it I recorded dream journals. well last night (i went to bed around 11:30) i woke up at 3:40 right after i experienced a dream, so while it was fresh in my mind, i recorded it. since it took me 20minutes to write down, i decided to try out the WILD technique tonight, since i was already up in the middle of the night.
i used the 61 point relaxation technique and a breathing technique to relax myself. that went fine. then i did the counting: "one, i am dreaming. two, i am dreaming...." until i got to about 70 breaths/counts, i started to feel strange sensations and forces acting upon me. it felt as if my body was being pushed and pulled to the side and then i was being forced through my mattress and felt strange vibrations in my head and body. i even felt the SP doing its work and i knew that i was in the transitional stage before slipping into a lucid dream.
but i felt these sensations for a while and i realized that i wasnt going into my dream, and it felt as if my body couldnt be forced through the threshold from awake to dream.
any suggestions on why i couldnt pass that threshold???? it really bugged me that i was soooo close, but i just couldnt get there. is there any technique or method to break through that barrier???
thanks

this is exactly my problem too!
i need some help with the transition stage, i get passed all of the relaxing, but i never experience SP..everytime my body feels heavy i can still move..its frustrating as hell

yea the SP worked, cuz later when i decided to stop trying, it was hard to move my arms!! but its hard to get past that barrier.

Yeah last night was my first time I've actually reached a "controlled" SP.

I use this technique often, and I will usually end up counting to the hundreds, sometimes to a thousand before I start getting vivid imagery at all.
Also, this technique didn't work too well for me until I had really good dream recall after some time. It's different for everybody, our minds do not work the same way.

I would name your attempt a success. Becouse you managed to take many steps forward. Still they are pretty new for you and thats why your consciousness became active processing these new experiences.
If you take your time you will get used to this sensations and you will eventually enter the dream.
Great work.
