Closed Eyes Seem Open

Ok, I'm almost certain I have mentioned this before but not sure if anyone else said they have had the same thing.

Basically sometimes when I try to WILD or even sometimes just as I'm trying to get to sleep (I barely ever do WBTB with WILD so I'm not sure about that way) I will see my room through my closed eyelids.

It's really strange because I mostly don't even focus on the HI before hand and don't even know if I had any. Although sometimes as I am watching the HI the image of my room suddenly appears.

So anyway basically I just want to ask if anybody else has experienced this and what did you do when you got to this stage to successfully enter a Lucid?

It feels like I'm so close because the image is so vivid and stable, although it is usually a bit dark, but I just can't get myself all the way.

Something similar happened to me in a dream.

I was running through what looked like someone's front yard, then I cut around this tree and look in the direction I came from. I could see everything around me, but could feel my eyes were closed. I forced them open and I was laying in my bed awake as could be.

Yeah I definitely know what your saying. I get a lot of foot print memories/sensations right before SP so I get a lot of feelings a lot. It's quite weird. :eek:

Oooh, that's cool. I have exactly the same thing. Since I sleep on my stomach facing the wall, the wall appears right before me. It feels like you opened your eyes since the image is so clear!

Once I reach this point, I'm already in a dream even though there was no HI. It is dark because obviously I do this at night. So what do I do? The obvious! I just simply get out of bed and do a reality check (it seems odd that you are dreaming since you enter them so awake). I'll admit I need to perfect my entrance time, as I have issues with my eyes twitching in these dreams which I think is caused because I enter the dream before it is totally stable. Really, what you should do in my opinion is just wait a little while then forcefully roll out of bed or quickly get up. I've done this about... six times I think, and it's worked fine. Actually, I'm inspired to try again tonight so I set my alarm, talk to you tomorrow to see if either of us gets it.

Oh, something more interesting, my mind adjusts perfectly every time. Once I moved my bed and had a WILD that night. My bed was in the correct position, not the previous one you would expect. Perhaps you could attach some pictures to the wall you know well and study them in the dream out of curiosity.

Ok I'll try tonight doing a Reality Check. If I get it that is.
I also get that perfect adjustment. I moved my bed once and a table I had in there. Everything on the table was even in the correct position.
Maybe this even helped to make this happen, being more aware or something I don't know. Just a thought.

This happenned to me this afternoon, I saw my room very clearly, so I tried to open my eyes but ended up awake, im going to try again and see if I can do anyting without opening my eyes.

Well.. If you actually see your room like Yosemine described, you could put a piece of paper of the walls that says something like "You are in a dream, do a RC"

Should help rid of many false awakenings.

But I'm pretty sure I'm not IN a dream yet. Although maybe I was but I've done RC's before and nothing. Maybe sometimes I am Sometimes I'm not. I'll try the paper thing in case.

Ok I finally got this to happen again accidentally.
I was pretty tired; only about 5-6 hours sleep the night before plus kinda active during the day compared to normal. I had a can of 'Mother' the energy drink at about 5:00 maybe a bit earlier and then I had about a quarter of another one before going to sleep.

This time it wasn't dark at all! It happened so quickly as well. I closed my eyes and probably a few minutes later I got the vision of the whole room. I could see it clearer then with my eyes open lol.
Really strange. Just posting here so I won't forget to try this agin and if someone else wants to test it out.

Well id have to personally call this a WILD, i get them all the time. It is a lucid dream, its just harder to get up and walk around.

Normally after i get this, it fades after a little while. I stay still laying down and clear my mind, and try to look inside my mind, into the same place the vision of my room came from. After a minute or so more dreams start to appear, and then i try to "Get up" in them and walk around.

I must have just had like 10 WILD's last night at least. Only a couple i manged to get up and move around.

Normally when a WILD happens, im still aware im laying down in my bed, so its kinda hard to move my dream body since im still feeling my real body.

Also btw this was after i had like a good 5 - 6 hours of sleep, i got up peed, laided back down and started WILD'in.

But no that was a WILD, a Wake Initiated Lucid Dream.

Oh also does it count as a WILD If i already slept for several hours? Or does it then count as something else? I did "Wake up" then laid back down and started dreaming.... But anyways.

That would be a WBTB/WILD.

Again though, I'm not convinced it's a WILD. Especially since the definition is going from wake straight into an LD. I don't even transfer at all. Maybe it is the start of a WILD like a very vivid hypnagogic but it seems completely different.

I swear i've had this happen also, except while I was on drugs.

I closed my eyes and did something (hard to explain) and I swore I could see my alarm clock. I even felt with my hands and my eyes were closed.

Well it might not be a WILD, but it most certainly is a lucid dream. There just harder to control.

When i get what your talking about, it looks and feels and seems just like a lucid dream, sept its much harder to control.

After that first dream fades of your room, What you need to do, Don't get up or anything, don't get excited, relaxed and just keep trying to look into your mind. Look into your mind to where the images came from.

When i do that, i start to get lucid dreams one after another.

At first there a bit hard to control and get up and move around in, but after a few lucid dreams i start to be able to walk around in them and manipulate them. Just don't try to hard. If you try to hard to do things, the dream fades and you have to wait for a new one to appear.

The only problem is they fade quickly. I still need to learn how to stay in them longer. I can manage to stay in them for a good half a minute to a minute.

When these happen i try to think about the "Tasks of the month", and i try doing them. Its easy to do them like that when your having one dream after another.

And haha omg i'm just remembering that last night i was outside and it was snowing, but there was only a inch of snow on the ground, and i was trying to get it to snow more, but i couldn't :(

This happened to me.... when I was 5.

It's just your mind.

This has happened to me a few times.
The seeing yourself in your room is said by some to be your energy body seeing, and your dream eyes by others.
The next step I take is picture yourself standing out of your body, maybe near your door or next to you.
Don't freak out, just imagine you aren't in bed anymore, just moved to that new spot.
It creates a belief you are there and causes your energy/dream body to move to it.
Each time I imagine this at the point you are describing, I don't let go of the image and usually go into full SP and move out of my body.

This type of Lucidity I am turning towards believing its OBE.
I used to think this was nonsense, but the Lucidity and starting from your body in your room was too clear and personal to just be a LD.
I have had many Lucid Dreams starting all sorts of places and from previous dreams, but these body/room origin ones are definitely different.
Not only the clarity, but you can feel it is you and the SP is very strong, like your life essence is escaping. Its so cool, but don't be scared. After the first time it happens, you welcome the SP and relax with it (as much as you can).
I suggest those looking to WILD or experience SP or OBE or Lucidity, try this from your bed body origin.

Maybe that is the difference....
Cos what the moon was saying doesn't fit what happens to me exactly. It's not a LD.
Moon - It isn't like an LD at all, it is simply like having my eyes open.
No SP yet, it usually comes after the vision fades.

I've actually decided to try and OBE just so I can have some experience with it instead of just saying it's probably BS without any first hand experience.

So I guess I could wait for it to fade, go to a LD or try out OBE's. I'll report back.

Oh well when my room appears in front of my eyes its as clear and vivid as a LD, so i consider it a LD as well, just not one which i can become active in yet because my body has not gone into SP, as you said SP comes after that.

Same for me as well, this just appears in front of my eyes like a LD, sept my bodys not in SP, doesnt make it any less a lucid dream for me however.

Oh ok, just your definition of LD is different. I just think of LD's as being aware in a dream, fullstop.

Sorry, I just realized I sounded like a smart ass.


But when I watched a scary movie and my parents told me to close my eyes, it's like I saw the movie but it was my imagination.

Not really like a smart-ass, more just pointless. Unless you were meaning it's your mind and not some other supernatural thing. BUt then you shoudl have elaborated. Anyway....

For me it is a part of signs that usually tell me I am ready to jump into the dream. Seeing with inner eye or whatever you wish to call it. :)

I also sometimes feel the REM-movement with my eyes. It is quite disturbing feeling because they blink so frigging fast :rolleyes:

Inner Eye == pineal gland... It has rods and cones just like the human eye from what i have read, so i assume that's where the images appear.

Well I won't comment anything biological or such because I haven't studied it from that point. But WILDs idea is usually to let the focus steer ftom outside disturbance to inner sensations so you can step into the dream. :)

This happened to me last night. When I moved to RC the image faded. It also faded once it happened again, except this time the second I noticed it.

Yeah that happens to me too. But if I wait too long it will go away as well. I'll keep trying different ways though. I think with WBTB it will be easier. I'm getting to sleep soon because I woke up at 4PM today and it's 12:00 now so I will be in prime dreaming condition after only a couple of hours of sleep.
