why did this happen?

this morning when i did the WBTB teqhnique, in my dream i did my reality check, so i became lucid.

i was in my house and i was just about to fly away, but all of a sudden my friends all appeared, but i didnt make that happen. then after that, we all flew away then everything after that, i had no control over, it felt like one of my usual dreams.

does this mean i lost lucidity or does this just always happen in lucid dreams?

To lose lucidity simply means that you lost the fact that you were in a dream. Just because you do or don't have dream control is irrelevant. As long as you know it's a dream you are lucid, the moment you forget it's a dream you are no longer lucid.

oh, i cant remember if i forgot i was dreaming or not.
