Typically, it is very difficult (aka impossible) for most people to WILD when first going to bed. It is not unheard of. Everyone keeps different schedules, and sleeps differently. Unless you have reason to assume this is a good time for you to WILD, I would stick with the WBTB method. You are probably just making things more difficult for yourself.
If you only have time when you first go to bed, try focusing your intent with autosuggestion. It can be surprisingly effective.
