Easiest way to obtain a LD

Moving this here because the newbie forums isn't the place to post this now I think about it <.<

So, firstly I want to flat out say my dream recall is pretty terrible, so I'm starting a dream journal and all that jazz but frankly, what is the quickest/easiest way to obtain a LD? So far from what I've gathered using a combination of MILD and FILD seems to be the way to go. I'm debating between using the going to bed thirsty method to train yourself to wake up or just using an alarm clock, so for some of the more experienced lucid dreamers what would you recommend?

The easiest way is probably DILD since it requires very little effort.

The quickest would probably be MILD.

You NEED to get your recall levels at a good place. You coudl be the most amazing Lucid Dreamer known to man, ahve the longest and best dreams of all time.... BUT if you don't remember them, what good are they? You wont know you had a Lucid Dream until you can remember you had them :P Keep a dream journal dude :)

Once you've got good recall and figured out dream signs, a combination of MILD, autosuggestion, and reality checking seems the least time consuming but most effective. And of course if you throw in DEILD...

I use that sort of thing and found tasks work better with movement.
Ever time I tried just picturing starting in a certain place I would never start there.

Don't even argue with me guys. We all know a technique like the one I quoted only works if you're an experienced lucid dreamer to begin with. No novice will be able to use that.

OK DEILD rules it is the ultimate instant LD tech...:). Who am I to argue about which tech is best, it all depends on the lifestyle of the user.

Conclusion
Getting up an hour early, staying awake for an hour or more reading about lucid dreaming, doing MILD briefly, then taking a morning nap is an excellent means of achieving lucid dreams. This technique is one of the most powerful, promising means of achieving lucidity. (Steven LaBerge)

The only time DEILD works for me is when I'm awakening from a lucid dream! Otherwise, I'm too groggy to realize that I was just dreaming and that I shouldn't move until AFTER I've moved.

It's the same with me. But usually every weekend I have at least one regular DILD, so then I can get 3 or 4 more LD's with DEILD. :banana:
