first of all, i can re-enter a normal dream easily enough, and i have one night DEILDed many times in a row because i kept waking up because my hair went in my eye while i was sleeping and touched the pupil bit, but the point is, ive only been lucky once, and it was ruined by my hair.
my question is, when you wake up, just lying there, what do you think of so you re-enter, but become lucid instead of going back into that rubbish normal dream, or at least remember to do a RC?
Just think of becoming Lucid! What else?!? :D
To be more specific, think of the previous dream that ended, only this time imagine yourself becoming Lucid in it. Or think of another scenario you want to dream about, and imagine being Lucid in it from the beginning. That should work, and once it does, and you're in the dream, do an RC. I find doing that reassures me that I am in the dream state, and it strengthens the dream.
Try to focus on your goal and not on your body. Start visualizing the dream and let your mind fill up the details.
I usually just try to grasp the most memorable things of the previous dream, then get my mind to "Fill in the blanks" so I can re-enter quickly. In fact, I've reentered dreams many, many times this way. In fact, I did this before I realized being awake in dreams was more special than just having a normal dream.

No no, I mean remembering the previous dream to get into another dream or the same dream, not remembering the previous to remember to do an RC. The RC comes secondary, because if just thinking about the past dream gets you into another dream, already Lucid, the RC wouldn't even matter. It would just serve as a stabilizer. At least that's how I see it.Quote:

I have a question that I get mixed answers on.
Why does the DEILD technique work? Is it because, when you stay still, you trick your brain into thinking you are still asleep, or is it because you barely wake up by not moving, so you can prolong your REM period? The latter doesn't make sense to me... Thanks!

I think it works because you're pretty much in the same mind state.
I never get really clear dreams with this; always way to blurry. Like seeing underwater with your eyes open :/
