"The Power Of Dreaming Minds" (Dream Article: Please Read)

ARTICLE: The Power Of Our Minds

      By: Spiritofthewolf

Our minds are very powerful. Without them, we would not be able to function (go figure). But what is it about our minds, that make us much more aware in Reality, then in our dreams? Is it because we spend more time awake, then sleeping?

If that is the case, and if all goes as suppose to, we should be able to become more "Aware" in our dreams, as we get older.. There is one catch though... Not everyone knows you can become "Aware" in your dreams..

The first time you ever become Lucid and "Aware you are dreaming" it is like you are being born into a new life... A Dream Life... And with time (both in reality and dreaming) you begin to progress.. The only reason why you are far more advanced in the waking world, then dreaming, is because of time... The time we spent awake far out grows the time we spend dreaming.. So once we "are born into the dream world" (become lucid for the first time) We begin a new life. We explore the boundaries of our new world and life. What is possible, what is not possible...

The only down fall of this, is the fact that we have our number one dependent working against us... You guessed it..... TIME.....

Lucid Dreamers need TIME to become more advanced in the Dream World... Sadly, we are not giving as much time in the dream world, as in the waking world.. So we cannot progress as quickly in the dream world, as we do in the waking world... Imagine for one moment, that we have had the same exact amount of time spent, both in the waking world, and the dreaming world... How would we ever be able to tell the difference? I know in "Reality" it is not possible, but still....Imagine.... If we spent the time we have in the waking world already, in the dream world, how much more advanced would we be in the dream state? They say possibilities are endless in dreams; but what about the things we have yet to discover??

What would we be able to discover in our dreams, given the same time ( your age) in the dream world? What would you have done? Or Who would you make yourself out to be? If you think about it logically, the possibilities are in some way, shape or form, limited.... It goes back to TIME....

With the limited amount of time we have spent in our dreams, or will spend in our dreams.. There has to be a better way about going to do things... Our daily life consists of the NORM, but a Lucid Dreamers life, consists of what they make it... It is like living 2 lives at the same time... Everyone trying different techniques to become Lucid, people going to great lengths just for that "First Lucid!".. It is like a drug to some, but peace, to others...

If you think about it logically, despite flying an airplane, or things that are not of your "Everyday" Nature.. We have basically learned everything that we need to know, to survive in waking life.... We can walk, run, talk, eat, drive a car.. Obviously, you get the point.. If we didn't know how to keep ourselves alive, we would not be here... So that leads me to the next thing... We need to learn the things of the Dream World, to survive in there...

You maybe asking "Why do we need to learn that stuff, when we can control everything, and not die?"

Your right, we cannot die in our dreams (and be dead in waking life).. But if we make our Dream Minds stronger and more powerful, we will be able to do more, Plus, Learn More.... Some Dreamers take advantage of situations that have been given to them in their dream world... Having sex with a beautiful women is most mens first instinct... but what if that women had an important message to give to you, but you never asked? What could that women have said to you? It's too late.... Your Awake Now.... Point being, that there is more to our Dream Life, then just doing what we want.. There are answers for us, just waiting to be found.. The only question is, will we take the time to search for them??

There are many things that we need to learn inside our Dream Life, but most cannot begin because they cannot become lucid (not their fault).. So For those who are experienced at what they do, and as we all say "The Possibilities are endless", there has to be a method--we can create in our dream world---to make us go Lucid everyday and every night....

Imagine creating something while inside the dream world, that will 110% promise people a lucid dream every night, every dream... You ask is it possible? It may not be possible while your awake, but REMEMBER, Your in your Dream Life now, why wouldn't it be possible?? Given the short amount of time we spend in our dreams, we should be able to explore freely right? Well I challenge you all to find a method in the dream world, that will increase the chances of "Attaining Lucidity" and bring it back to waking life....

The Power Of Our Dream Minds... We have only yet to discover what it can store, and what it can do... There are things to be discovered in the dream world... If we can invent a way, inside our dreams, to increase the "Attaining Lucidity" part of our dream life.....We will have everything at the tip of our fingers... Even what is working against us at this very moment.......TIME......

      Thank You For Your TIME

Very Interesting article, motivates to spend time in exploring dreams more and more.

I think there are so few people who know about lucid dreaming, and even less who are interested and try, and even less who succeed.

This is in my opinion the main reason why lucid dreaming is still, in everyday life as in science, a very unexplored terrain.

As the brain get's more and more explorated, I think (and hope) also lucid dreaming will become more and more relieved in psychological and biological aspects.

      Cheers

      Great post.
I thought of this before too but never thought it out. Placing a sort of Anchor in the Dreamworld when one finds out having become lucid by chance. An Anchor that will be ever present in all dreams from there on, making you lucid every dream.

I made a vague sketchy idea for this once. Never got round to try it, but it might just work. My idea was to incubate this anchor from waking life into dreaming life. First I thought of a Room from which to start every dream, then I simplified it to a red roadsign, like a STOP-sign, but then instead saying "DO an RC!" or "Are you Dreaming?"

However the fact that reading is pretty damn impossible in dreams makes this rather difficult, so instead I thought of a Symbol to symbolise "Lucidity" and everything related. I already have a symbol for that: a single eye(kind of egyptian style) with it's upper eyelid's eyelashes forming a Crown. ( "In the land of the blind the One eyed man is King" )

What if one were to draw this symbol on a large sheet of paper, and color it intensely with pastels or paint... and stare at it, focussing at it for extended periods of time to incubate it. I mean gaze at it hypnotically for 15 minutes, just before bedtime every night... Would it return to us in our Dreams, reminding us of Lucidity and to do an RC?

Perhaps worth a Try getting this self-constructed Dreamsign into one's dreaming mind?
I'm gunna make the symbol with fineliners and pastels and post it here so some of you folks can use it too.

I had this idea. You ask your subconscious to come to you in your dream (as a person). Then you ask him/her his/her name and ask him/her to appear in every dream. If you build up a good relation with your subcon, that should work.
Have you guys read the NST (Named Subconscious Technique)? It's awesome, but I don't think you should just give your subcon a random name. I like the idea of maintaining a relation with my subcon. A bit like a DG. Or you can view them as one, of course
I prefer to think of my DG('s) as external rather than internal, though.

One of my goals is to program my mind to alert my consciousness whenever I begin a dream; I hope that it becomes automatic so that each time I start dreaming there is an automatic alert that arises from my mind's own undercurrent of knowledge that it is creating a dream.

Of course, much easier said than executed but all I can do is keep trying. My idea is to program my mind so that all of my dream characters tell me that I am dreaming throughout the dream.

This hasn't worked so far but again I'll just keep trying and see what happens.

Great idea. I kind of take for granted my natural ability to attain lucidity because I know there are so many out there that struggle for them. If I focused on becoming lucid more than I do, I could probably get pretty consistent, but I'm just too lazy.
