Could use some help with the DEILD technique

I have been waking up naturally from dreams so I chose this method a few days ago. I go to bed at roughly around 10 and I wake up about 2:30 (this is the first time I wake up) every night.

When do I know the dream is starting? I read the whole tutorial and when I focus on the dream, I just fall asleep and dream about other things. I don't move when I get up just keep my eyes closed and focus on the dream too. I lay there for about 10 min and nothing. I am just too tired. I don't even go into sleep paralysis. I think I am doing something wrong but I am not sure what's going wrong. Could anyone shed some insight on this? Thanks :bowdown:

You are probably focusing to hard. The goal is to remain in that hazy dream state not really thinking aobut it just do it. . .try to just slide into it with a slight amount of awareness!

It takes a bit practise to catch the moment. I wrote some stuff about DEILD with some tips. I'll see if I can find it and post the link when I edit ;).

Not quite true. One time I started to move, and I thought to myself, "CRAP! I wasn't supposed to move." So I just laid back down within the first few seconds of getting up and thought of my last dream. I got sleep paralysis and entered a dream as a result. However, success is extremely unlikely if you do move.

I am going to agree with whoever it was that disagreed with you :lol:. When I do a DEILD, I will often find myself on my back. Before even going back to sleep, I roll over onto my stomach ( a more comfortable position for me ) and go back to sleep. Just don't focus on it too much. For me, all it takes is to remind myself of my goal to lucid dream, and tell myself I will do it. In that stage, your determination is hard to break. It's easier after you've done it once or twice, not only because you gain experience, but because it raises your confidence. It's a really good cycle that way. ( The more DEILDs you have, the more confidence you gain. The more confidence you gain, the more DEILDs you will have. ). I once had a DILD that I woke up from, and chained two DEILDS from it. It's in my dream journal if you want to look.
